Site's down again. I'm really missing reading about everyone's progress and all the great support there when this happens...

Anyway, hope everyone is well. Lunchtime drinking for me today so just another 30 minutes to wait for my Nal to kick in...

Sorry, only just saw your comment. I guess I could try 75mg and see what happens. Getting pretty discouraged that nothing us happening yet (4 months in)...
Shame the Naktrexone is so expensive and so hard to get.
I am doing it on my own as my GP wouldn't prescribe it.
It's good to hear that TSM is working for you, I need to hear more success stories right now to keep me going!

Hi pinkmilk, do you ever check the forum? (When it's not being constantly hacked like the last week, that is.) Lots of members have been 'cured' around the 20+ week mark, you would find a lot of encouragement there.

It took 4 months and 25 days for my extinction to take place. And it happened erratically about that time with no warning. My desire for AL plummeted. I am at the end of my 31st week and average lower single digits of AL units per week now. Any lower and I'll be dropping from the moderate drinking to the light drinking category according to US NIAAA guidelines.

So, hang in there. I remember weeks 5 though 18 were the hardest for me to believe that it would work at all. In fact, I never truly believed it would work until it did. It took 2 weeks for it to sink in that Naltrexone works.

Yes - I agree that it must be hard on those in the start-up to have the site be down. I'm talking to a few others that are holding onto that site as a real life-line. I remember it being that way ...

I know we all appreciate all of the work RV9 does. But we need a Plan B in place.

Some of us know to come here - but many don't. And to be honest, I feel a bit odd motoring over here only because "our" site is kafunk.

Lena - what about that chat you once talked about that was not connected to the site? I think we need something like that for such times ...

Yes, indeed! I'm on week eleven, and it's been an absolute rollercoaster so far, but I have seen enough positive glimmers to still be very encouraged and see it to the end. The forum's been a tremendous source of encouragement, support, and fascinating insight into others' experience. I wouldn't have got this far without it, I don't think. It's experiencing a lot of 'downtime' this week due to hackers (I think) but please do check it when you can.

TSM site down so I'll post this here/ Have been on TSM for last 6 weeks and have been perfect (i.e. have taken my 50mg Nal at least one hour before drinking everytime)...until today. I completely forgot. I dont know how, but had like 6 drinks before I suddenly realized that I had not taken my pill. I felt like shit...wanted to kill myself.

But heres the question: has this ever happened to any of you? Have I set myself back weeks.... As Lena would say...sky is falling on Zman hehe. Please let me know what sort of damage i have inflicted by this screw up.

It hasn't happened to me, but from what I've read on the board just don't sweat it! Get back on the Nal from the next time you drink, and you'll be fine. There might be a small set-back but nothing major, just stick with the system and look forward (hopefully) to being one of the nine out of ten (or thereabouts) who are cured!

Thanks 8. I just feel like an idiot. The weird thing is that the effect of drinking felt no different from when i drank on the NAL. this is actually somehthng i have been wondering about. i.e. if booze still gives the same great high on Nal, how is the pavlov dog effect working? Is the difference so subtle that we cant even feel it?

In any case...I will never screw up like that again I hope.

If you forget to take your Nal. take it now.
You did not disrupt your program, be well.

Bob, thank you so so much for your post. Just showed it to my husband, who is so so sceptical about TSM. I am almost in tears because your message gives me new hope.
I so want this to work and to hear that Naltrexone has worked for someone is fantastic.
It's been a good week altogether as I finally got an appointment with a CBT practitioner on Friday and even though he hadn't heard about TSM he was interested enough to borrow the book from me.
