Eskapa's Book, The Cure for Alcoholism

I don't normally visit these Sinclair Method forums much anymore, although I believe wholeheartedly in the method and am quite sure it will become mainstream in alcohol treatment in the near future. (Why shouldn't it, since Naltrexone is still a patented drug?).

I am happy to hear about all the success stories and am sure there will be plenty more. I also notice a theme of those who stick with it succeed, and those who stray may fail. Not surprising.

I have heard good things about combining Naltrexone and Baclofen, and in fact posted a study on this. I am currently on baclofen only, with incredible success, but I am now thinking of combining it with the Sinclair method. Why not?

And all you Naltrexone successes, if you have problems with anxiety and depression despite your relief from alcohol obsession, you might want to take a look at bac.
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

And that is the key. I have run across several who have claimed that it isn't working but so many are non-compliant. There are those that it does not seem to work for. Sinclair claims a 78% success rate. I am glad to be among them.

One of the worst things we can do is treat any treatment like a religion. I have encountered too many that decided that their way was the right way and not to be questioned. Everyone looses in that situation.

When I first heard of Kudzu, I laughed my butt off. I was hoping there would be a run on kudzu since we are overrun with it in the south east. Entire houses have been swallowed up in the weed. But I hear of people claiming that it mitigates the craving effects of alcohol.

We are a big lab here and the best we can do is to be respectful to read each other accounts and learn. Remember, most great discoveries were accidental. Come to think of it, the Sinclair Method was discovered that way.

Nal is a cheap generic and nobody has held a patent on it forever. DuPont I think got it's patent for it in '74. I don't know when it ran out but it was a long time ago. I think it costs me a buck a pill. People with insurance pay next to nothing.

Alkermes has a patent on Vivitrol, the long lasting injectable form of naltrexone. $8-900 a shot i hear.

I pay $3/mon. I would NEVER want a long tem version. Anyone that does does not understand targeted extintion. Ideally, the nal would last for the driniking session and no longer.
