Sunshine - sorry to hear about the rejection. You must be reeling if they led you on...it gets better (I ended up meeting my husband because of a similar situation...sometimes the rejections lead us to the right person) but I am sure right now all you feel is pain. Sorry.
Glad you are taking your Nal still and already into week 3. That will certainly help you get through this a bit easier. Take care
Me - there are a bunch of us over at the sinclair method site,http://www.thesinclair.method.com, that are following Nal + drinking = cure and posting our results. Many of us stop back over to MWO to help others on this site as well. I think there are many here, like EvieLou, that take Nal a bit differently - but it is helping them as well. I only take Nal when I drink - I'm in week 7 and am having much better results than ever before. You are welcome to drop by the other site and join in or just read up a bit. Good luck.

thanks , yeah i will definitely update everyone on how it effects me.. its like my last hope.. i got bad the past year.. the past two days i was almost sick of alcohol by how bad ive been and embarassed myself, but of course each night i have friends that wanted to hang out and go to dinner, but i still only had two glasses of wine tonight, last night, and the night before. is it normal to feel down when decreasing how much you drink? ive been feeling depressed the past few days since lessening it from like a bottle of wine and two beers, to just two glasses each night. i am also depressed on how bad ive gotten and bc my friend found out though..

don't be lonely
I know it gets tough. I am living alone and to over-drink helps nothing. I know this feeling oh too well. But don't be lonely. You have the power of the entire community here and a whole bunch of other people who are also struggling with their own stuff in your corner. Remember that every one is fighting some kind of battle. Over this past year I have found the people here awesome and non-judgemental. I am very happy to have this resource and I struggle too. Fortunately not as much as I used to but the people here are one of the reasons why. Just keep hanging on is all I can say. Maybe head on over to the chat line. It helps me. Sorry if this seems like a lame answer.I went through some really terrible stuff and the people here helped me. ( and I mean terrible). Good luck.

Sorry sorry sorry, just jumping in without reading the whole thread..... so excited! Has anyone found the cheapest place for Naltrexone yet? Any in the UK? Don't answer if it's too much bother, really just excited, have been so so low and just got some hope. Depression has got so bad and drinking is getting worse again, so it would be so good to find something that could help. Thanks for the thread.

Hi all,
I am not a new member, but I am new to posting. After way too many regretful situations as a result of my drinking, I have finally admitted to my husband and family that I have a problem. Actually, I have known this for a while but it took a huge dose of courage to tell my husband he was right. I have been outwardly denying this for a long time -- to save face? to not give him ammunition when we argue? I don't know. But I have now decided that the Sinclair Method seems to be the right approach for me. Went to a few AA meetings (secretly, didn't tell anyone) and didn't like the continual sad-sack stories and the general "I'm helpless against my addiction" vibe. Eww. (No offense to anyone who finds AA a great help and resource, I'm just not a fan.)
So, I've been on the Sinclair Method for about 3-4 weeks. Honestly, so far I don't see much difference, except for the fact that I often forget to buy wine during the day, whereas a month ago I would have planned my errands around it. But I am still drinking about the same amount every night. I ordered the book and am waiting eagerly for it.
Just wanted to say hello and that I look forward to joining in the discussion.

Hi H4M and Me --
I haven't been on this board for awhile (I spend most of my time on thesinclairmethod.com board but check in here from time to time).
Me - I'm glad you finally started! Very sorry about the bf - concentrate on getting the drinking issue under control and I bet the rest will fall in place.
H4M -- I don't know the scientific explanation for why we have a Nal honeymoon the first few weeks...I think it's just our bodies getting used to the medication. I am on week 11 and am having more and more days of either going AF or stopping after 1 or 2. My mantra from the start has been pay attention to the subtle signs that the method is working -- like the fact that you don't think about buying wine now. That's a huge thing...keep noticing these shifts in your thinking to help you make it through the 4 month minimum time...and always take your Nal before drinking.
I am a firm believer in this method as it has already made many positive differences in my addiction. I am not 'cured' yet by any means -- but moving in the right direction.
If you need additional support, there are others going through exactly what you are experiencing at thesinclairmethod.com forum. Everyone is welcome and the more board-buddies we have on both MWO & TSM, the better chance we have of beating this addiction.
Good luck to you both - sounds like you are off to a great start!

Strictly Sinclair: Naltrexone Done Right
Hello Everyone.. I'm back viewing this site after almost a year. I am still struggling with excessive drinking and tried AA for awhile with a small bit of luck, but quickly made excuses for not sticking with it. The Sinclairmethod sounds perfect for me. I have read thru most of this thread and it's seems to be perfect for me. The problem is that I am having real diffuculty finding a doctor to issue a script for Naltrexone. I keep getting pushed back to anti-depressants and re-hab referrals. Honestly, I can't afford the prices on the web and have good med insurance to cover Rx's, all I need is a cooperative Dr. I will continue to look for a doctor to help, but in the meantime, keep up the thread and the education. I hope to come back with some improvement and positive feedback soon.
Regards,
Cheri
