Cindi -- Nice to catch up with you here. I hope with all my heart you have found Your Way Out at last.
I want to say a word about the liver.
Concerns about liver damage have been misperceived by some. This is from the naltrexone package insert (prescribing instructions)
"Naltrexone is contraindicated in acute hepatitis or liver failure, and its use in patients with active liver disease must be carefully considered in light of its hepatotoxic effects. . . . Naltrexone does not appear to be a hepatoxin at the recommended doses." (emphasis mine).
The insert also says evidence of potential liver damage is derived from a study in which 5 of 26 subjects showed elevated liver enzymes while taking 300 mg of naltrexone -- six times the dosage we take.
