:new:
I have bought a starter pack (awaiting delivery - CD, supplements, book) and I have also downloaded the book (impatient).
I'm not from the US and live in Japan so my situation is a little complicated (whose isn't).
I don't have any confidence in discussing medication with a Japanese doctor and possibly even less with an expat foreign doctor here. I have had numerous bad medical experiences with my kids and have a major mistrust for anything medical here. I might talk to my doctor at home about it, if I built my courage up for a while, but I won't be going home for a while and really want to get started. Time is a-wasting - I'm on the wrong side of 40, have lots I want to do and I'm just treading water here, often with my head under.
Think I originally started drinking as an alternative to eating too much - the irony:H! Eating is still an issue (I'm not hugely overweight but have battled all my adult life) and I'm drinking 5 or so nights a week (more on holidays), a bottle or so of wine a night and doubtless loads more when out (counting is scary). Living within a major expat drinking culture, so I'm not at all out of the ordinary: it's fine for everyone to "love a drink", but I don't want to do it anymore. That is, I don't want to waste my mornings, be unproductive, miss out on time with my kids, not be there for them enough, affect my health and fitness, my appearance, etc... the list is quite long, but seemingly not long enough to avoid the allure of the 7pm first glass of wine... and the subsequent 5-6+.
I have now devoured the MWO PDF book (will read it more carefully again later). I've also done a fair amount of online research and I really want to try Topiramate.
There are some companies (River Pharmacy is one) selling Topiramate online without prescriptions. Has anyone done this? Thoughts?
I'm not taking this lightly - I would much prefer to be under the care of a doctor who could monitor my progress. However, I am at the point where I need to start, change, get a move on and I can't justify or afford to get on a plane for a doctor's appointment.
I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts. It sounds like quite a few people have had some success with this.
I'm appreciating reading about everyone's successes and setbacks - makes me feel like I'm not the only one.
:thanks:
