    baclofen

Regarding triggers. They're something I never really got my head around. There was a time I was devistated by a relationship back in college and I drank the blues away, but for the past many many years I never have made an excuse or anything. I just drink every day. No trigger needed. Well, onset of detox is a pretty good trigger I guess. Maybe I need some sober time and then a few slips to identify triggers. In the past it would be things like my wife was on a business trip, I'm alone in the house and I think I can "get away with it this once" then I'm back to drinking as usual.

        baclofen

I ordered baclofen from 4rx.com and am now having anxiety over the repercussions of ordering rx's online. I cannot go to my doc....he is a hard a firm believer in AA and wants me to go to inpatient....I am not ready. What are the laws in the us for ordering on line meds that usually require a prescription.....I am married to a cop......I do not want to get us cross wise with the law!............I am excited about the probable outcomes but worried that I have done something to get my butt into trouble!!!!!!

I am not quite sure, I believe they have the policy to ignore non-controlled substances as there was quite an uproar about seizing senior citizens medications when they went to Canada.
            SO they amended it
And its non-controlled meaning nothing happens they just seize it and send you a customs letter
I know of a few people who used to order steroids from overseas. One guy was the manager of a pizza shop I used to eat and drink pizza at when in Uni.
He showed me the letter, said if youd like to claim it, you have to write a letter to the customs office in Los Angeles.
            He passed on that.
Ive seen many others get that letter too on a fitness chatboard I used to belong to, and steroids are controlled. Not that I do steroids or hang around juicers, but if they are just going to seize and send a letter for controlled substances. You are not going to get hassled for a 90 day supply of non-controlled safe stuff.
And I think the 1991 Aids bill allowed importation of up to 90 days of pharmaceuticals anyhow.
Thats about all I reckon I know, many many other people have had no problem ordering overseas as long as they are reputable and dont send you sugar pills

This is why you should order from River. I've never had the slightest problem from them.

River sells that 180 tablets for over 150$.

4rx is reliable and sells more tabs 200 tabs for 56$
Ah, but I am following the Sinclair Method, and 4rx does not sell Naltrexone!
I've never taken Baclofen, so I have no experience as to difference in prices. It does look like 4rx has some good deals going on there.

                    Goin4More is Goin2Experiment

Hi, just jumping in here. I read Dr. Ameisen's book several weeks ago, but decided to stick with The Sinclair Method for myself. Some of the members on the Sinclair Board are having a terrible time dealing with addiction to benzos, as they have to taper off this family of drugs or the Naltrexone's effects will be hindered (according to Dr. Eskapa).

I've been researching Baclofen for their benefit, and thought it might be a great 'combo' drug to use in conjunction with Naltrexone. This is how I came across this thread. I've been doing Naltrexone for 15 weeks. My drinking is down about 25%, I no longer drink to blackout, no longer exhibit erratic drunken behavior, and generally feel much more in control while drinking. However! This is certainly a slow process - I'm nowhere near 'safe' drinking levels yet. After reading this thread I've decided to try baclofen myself, while remaining on the Naltrexone regime.

I visited 4rx, but they don't accept Master Card, and I lost my Visa card last week (ugh!). So I tried alldaychemist.com. They don't take Visa, but sent an e-mail giving me other options - so I responded, and am waiting to hear from them. Their prices are comparable to 4rx, much less than River, and I've had good experiences with them in the past.

Looking forward to this journey. My plan is to begin at 5mg., 3Xday, and titrate up every 4 or 5 days, depending on side effects. Then I'll probably do 5 mg. in the late morning, and titrate up to 10 mg. mid-afternoon and evenings. See how it goes. I'm hoping the drowsiness won't affect me thru the day if I keep my a.m. doses late, and low - that's the time of least cravings, in any event.

                    Will keep you all posted!

                      baclofen

                      Hi G4M

Lovely to see you here- I think it is a great idea to add the baclofen to the mix- I am at a stage where my drinking is more or less in control with The Sinclair method- but I feel I am at a plateau ad need to try something else- for now I am off the nal and just taking the Baclofen- I feel very good on it.

                      Wishing you luck!

                        G4M,

I believe OceanAOcean does Nal and Bac together and she has had good success with it. I am not sure what her dosages are, though.

You might want to pm her or she may see this and respond.

                        Good luck!!

ps My first dose of 5 mg did not make me unduly tired this morning at all. Just "mellow" as Marby described.

                            baclofen

I got my naltrexone today & having cold feet. So funny that everything I read before I ordered it was positive & now I see many side effects on posts.

                            My question goes out to:
Anyone who tried topamax and had terrible side effects with it and then later tried naltrexone?

Question: What were your naltrexone side effects like?

                            Thanks guys.

                              baclofen

                              Chrysa,

My doc swears by Naltrexone and is only letting me do the Baclofen on a trial basis.

She has several clients who say Naltrexone has saved their lives.

Just try it. If you suffer side effects, you can stop. It is not like Topamax or even Baclofen, where you have to titrate up and down.

I pray it works for you. In spades.

                              Love,
                              Cindi

OK Cindi thank you. You're right, there is only one way to know...try it.

Did you try naltrexone? Why baclofen rather than naltrexone, if I may ask?
