Just wanted to thank you all for your helpful information and input. I'm feeling very positive about this and will be posting once I get the bac. in the mail. I'll be on vacation this next week, so hopefully soon after I return it'll be in the mail!

I have sat here all day, and read every post, now I won't have to stay up half the night again, but I sure have the "flat-ass" syndrome now! LOL It's amazing, seriously, to read and follow everyone's progress, I've been on this site a long while, and this is the first time I've seen a thread that has soooo many positive responses "cure" wise, or long term, serious "treatment" results. I have tried several things to help stop the train from going down the same 'ol track! It's so true that "insanity" is doing the samething, over and over again, and expecting a different result! We just never learn, this bac deal sure is something! I can't wait to start it tomorrow, after all I've read, I'm going to try again tonight to not take the ambien, and try to start in the am., cutting the prozac to once every other day, and start the bac in the am., maybe just take 5mg to start, would ya'll suggest taking it once per day to start while weaning off the other, or just go ahead and take 5mg, 3x tomorrow?? My head is so confused with facts and figures now! It has been so nice to "meet" you all today thru printed page! I hope and pray and will cross my fingers, eyes, and toes for each one of us! Please do the same for me. Coming from a pharmaceutical background, I will try to detail my bac journey for you as well as possible! Thanks for sharing everything!

Hubby Rph just home.....we were thinking, talking, and wondering if it would be worth combining 5mg of bac, in a cap, with B vit's, L-glut, milk thistle, etc...cut down on amount of throwing pills down the gullet, and maybe enhance the effects for folks that haven't been on supplements during most of the duration of this train wreck.....if so, what would you personally like to have combined? We compound bio-identical hormones, and all types of human and vet meds, so it would be really interesting! And ladies, hormones has tons to do with all aspects, including the way our liver assimilates all drugs, different from the guys! I never had this much trouble with AL til surgical menopause! WHEW...talk about sweats! lol

Sounds like a good idea. But can you get all of those into one capsule?

I'd like to have Bac together with milk thistle, + maybe Bs, maybe C?

We'll all give it some thought, I need to start following ya'lls path, and get into this like you all did, I'm just excited, and thinking ahead without any experience....ya know, sometimes I think the reason this is so very hard for "us", is because we are all smart, determined, successful folks, and this is one of the first things we can't "control, get, achieve", whatever.....I know when I'm told..."you can't do THAT", its the first thing I make sure I DO....I guess being told you can't drink, makes us want to prove everyone wrong...to our own demise.....ugggghhhhhhh

TIT - can't prozac be a bit hard to come off? I guess I'm just wondering why you feel the need to go off it (the ambien I understand). I don't think most of us had a reaction at 5mg 3x/day - I personally would just start there rather than wait, but I'm on Wellbutrin rather than prozac, so maybe there is something about the interaction we should know? (drug interaction moderate on the checker I used)

All Alcohol free. With no real effort. Cravings seem to be dropping off.

There is a "different" feeling and hopefulness about me.

Hello to all

I have been following this thread and had ordered my BAC. It came yesterday afternoon and I really wanted to try it out and get it into my system. I took one tablet at about 4pm. Still had a bottle of wine later in the evening.

I want to make sure that one pill is 10mg??? Zen...you probably know, it is the Bacmax. I know I should be starting on 5mgs 3x daily, but this morning I took another pill. To my surprise, I felt a mood lift today, I guess a little euphoric. Then I took another at 2pm. Just feeling a little sleepy now. I'll take another pill later this evening and no wine tonight. Is it wrong to take 10mgs x3 at the start? So far I'm not feeling any horrible side effects....If I do, I will go down in dosage.

I will post my progress.

I'm going to take 1/2 a pill tonight. So that will have been 10mg, 10mg and 5mg today. Maybe I'll stick with that for 3 days.

Hi Everyone -

Wanted to share a recent experience I had with the Bac. It was two weeks ago last Thursday that I started with the Bac. I have titrated up rather quickly ( maybe too quick) and this past Thurs (8/7) went up to 120 mg/day. While I had a slight headache and was very sleepy I was able to make it. I had not cut back on my drinking...was still at a 1.5L bottle of wine a day.

On Friday, I planned to take the 120 mg again. Friday morning I was feeling very out of it and spacey. I took my 20mg around 8 am and then took 50 mg around 1. I had some outdoor work to do on Friday afternoon so went about doing that in the 90+ degree heat.
Around 4 or so I started having bad cramps, wasn't sure what they were but continued to finish my work. When I came in around 6:30 or so I was so overheated and felt horrible. My plan was to take a cool shower and relax when the next thing I knew I was violently ill for about the next 4 hours.

I was finally able to keep some liquid down and was afraid to skip my Bac so I managed to take another 30 mg before I went to bed.

I still felt weak yesterday but better. Over the course of the day I took 110 mg of Bac - 20-30-30-30. Today I feel much better but am still very sleepy and spacey.

The funny thing is that I have absolutely no desire to drink...so that is a good thing. I am wondering if in addition to titrating up too quickly, I also hit my "switch" which may have caused the vomitting?? Also, I have noticed on the Bac that I drink way more water than I used to...perhaps I got dehydrated in the sun and that added to the sickness?? I know others on this thread have had bouts with nausea etc.

My plan is to take the same amount of Bac today in the same manner I did yesterday and then stay there for awhile to see if some of this sleepiness goes away.

I am hoping that I have truly hit "the switch" and that by spreading the dosages out over 4 times per day vs. 3 times per day that I can stay at 110 mg with continued success...so it seems as though AF has been handed to me and if I make it thru today, I will have 3 days of AF...

All in all....I guess feeling yucky for 24 hours is a small price to pay for being AF!

Just a tip in the half pill thing: the Bacmax is very crumbly and will fall apart if you try to cut it. I find that simply breaking it carefully with your fingers works better.

I have found I urinate more frequently on Baclofen, so I must increase my fluid intake to accommodate this. Working in the heat and not drinking enough fluid can easily make you ill.

Yes, you titrated up quickly, just as I did. I never got sick, just really sleepy and weird dreams, etc. I am currently at 40 mgs/day 3 x day and have been AF for weeks and weeks. It is awesome.

I remember the first time I realized I had gone an entire day without that internal battle of the rational brain and the irrational brain was when I first realized this was working. I have been smiling ever since.

I think that depends on the variety of the tabs. Bacmax is irritatingly crumbly (I still have some crumbs around from trying to break them with a razor blade).

Vioridon and Pacifen are more solid. I don't know about others.

Sorry if a particular flavor of pill was referenced. I'm having trouble reading threads these days. :upset:

Day 2 on Bac. Awoke very sluggish had to drag myself from bed. Also, since yesterday afternoon I have been very thirsty too. Drinking lots of water.
