Hey Beatle,

I have only read the first few pages of this thread but I thought the mention of pyruvate was very interesting...it is an intermediate substrate in the Krebs Cycle which is the mechanism whereby the body metabolises glucose...since so much evidence exists for the role of sugar metabolism in alcoholism...it scientifically makes sense. Anyway, just my 2 cents worth...
