I cast my vote for a "loop of sanity!" If only it were as easy to get caught in as the other one!!!!

And btw, Wit, I agree that it helps SO much to have a little understanding that we can't believe everything our minds tell us . . . which is one reason why I LOVE this forum so much. Knowledge is power!!!!

Okay, so I'm at work, flying high on my first dose (total 210 mg/day), and I'm doing my attorney recruiter thing. Working on two fabulous positions - one for a litigator, one for a real estate lawyer. I call a fabulous, superstar candidate at a major law firm, and score!! She's interested! So I launch into my great (5 minutes, maybe?) spiel about the wonderful position, company, duties, pay, etc... and I get dead silence on the other end. And she says, "I don't know anything about real estate." That's because she's a litigator.

Mortified, I apologize and explain that I'm working on two different positions for the same company. And because my mouth isn't really taking direction from my brain, I say, "Sorry...I must be on crack." It occurs to me that that probably wasn't the best thing to say to a big-firm lawyer. Fortunately, she thought it was funny, and we went on to discuss the litigation position...

Oh dear, I do know how the brain can turn to mush.

I have had some rather alarming side effects.... the kind that make for good dinner party jokes... many, many years later.

I recently went to a typical South African barbeque. It was on a Saturday afternoon. I finished work and had to rush off. I am only on 30mgs daily, due to certain side effects. I decided to titrate up before the "braai" to take the edge off the cravings. This was a semi work function.

I have noticed that I get very drunk, very quickly if I drink on Bac, so I took my non al drinks to pass the time.

Anyone who has been to a South African braai knows that many beers go down before the food is ready. I sat with an empty stomach, with drinks that tasted like nothing for about 5 hours. I had not eaten much during the day... I was starving. People around me, most of them strangers were getting more and more pickled as the night wore on.

Eventually I could not take much more. I asked the host for a glass of wine... and the rest is history. Two hours and four glasses later, I was aware of a very concerned host suggesting someone drive me home. I could not stand, talk, ..... and the rest of the night is one embarrasing blur.

I am sure that everyone thought that I must have been hiding a bottle of something away. How could anyone get that leggless on so little??????
