    Calm Forte and Klonopin

Does anyone have any advice on mixing the Calm Forte supplement with Klonopin perscription. I hold a prescription, but rarely take it - maybe once to sometimes twice per week as needed.

I'm relatively new to looking at this program and on e concern with starting the supplements is I do often have medication sensitivities and certainly dont want to be "over-calmed"

Also hold a perscription to Topomax that is unrealted to alcohol use.

    Any ideas?

      Hello! Welcome!!!

Check out drugs.com...they provide a ton of info for contraindications.

If you have a script for Topa, give it a shot! Check the drug conflicts first though.......topa works awesome for some people.

      Good luck!!!!!

Calms Forte is a homeopathic remedy. I don't think they interact with medications (but can't say 100%). They don't affect the body in the same way. Herbal supplements are different. They often work in similar ways to medications, and so can have strong interactions with medicines. St Johns Wart, for example, which is used for depression, should not be taken with anti-depressants. I think it's best to check with all herbs and medication combinations. And even vitamins. Many medications deplete certain vitamins, with potentially dangerous effects.

          All Done,
You should have no issues with Calms Forte, what beatle said about homeopathic remedies is true, you will not have a reaction taking it with alopathic drugs. But, you should keep in mind that the universal antidote to homeopathis remedies is coffee.....if you dink coffee any remedy will be useless.

            Other antidotes to homeopathic remedies

This is a good point, Kate. Also, mints and menthols are antidotes. And guess what else -- yes, alcohol.

Homeopathic remedies should be taken at least 15 minutes separate from brushing teeth or using anything with mint/menthol (including external, such as Tiger Balm). I believe chammomile and patchoulie are also antidotes. In fact, I think anything that is strong smelling or tasting can effect the homeopathic remedy's ability to work.

Forgot to mention, you should never handle the homeopathic remedies. Put them in the cap and throw them in your mouth.

Exactly, beatle....happy that you mentioned this. When I take homeopathic remedies I use baking soda for brushing teeth. Also using aromatherapy and herbal cures with homeopathy can be tricky, one has to be highly skilled to work with these together. But as far as I am aware, strong scents do not, nceccessarily affect remedies, with the exception of menthol, mint and coffee.

Well, I don't actually know much about it, but I'm sure I read that strong scents, and specifically patchouli, affect homeopathic remedies' effectiveness. (Also, another strong-smelling substance -- marijuana-- is a no-no:eeks

But as I understand it, the strong-smelling stuff only needs to be avoided within 15 minutes of ingestion of the remedy, while I think coffee is in the blood, so you need to avoid it altogether?

I actually studied homeopathy under a homeopathic MD....After 180 hours of study just in the classroom, we barely scratched the surface! One of the most facinating part of our studies, was beginning to use the Materia Medica.

We've discussed homeopathy on the Holistic Healing forum a tiny bit, but no-one seems to know much about it (including me). I am really interested in finding out more, so would you mind starting a thread there, Kate? I'm sure there are plenty of others who would welcome a chance to get information and insight from another member who actually has some knowledge, but perhaps that forum would make the most sense.

OK, beatle....I will start a Homeopathy discussion forum....it would be interesting and fun to exchange information. I am completely facinated by this form of treatment.
