Had to quit taking Baclofen because of side effects...

    Renee,
I am on 80 mg per day of bac with no significant side effects, but also still have cravings. I sort of feel I want to keep on the bac only and see what happens without mixing naltrexone into my routine. I am titrating up about 20 mg of bac per week. I want to know if bac alone can do the trick. Did the addition of naltrexone make an immediate difference? I also am still drinking. Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

Had to quit taking Baclofen because of side effects...

I had CRAZY side effects when first taking bac. When only on 15mg I felt like I was having out-of-body experiences all day. Seriously I had to mentally remind myself that I was participating in conversations at work. Also it would make me so sleepy that I could fall asleep on the couch about .5 seconds after sitting down. I also had twitching in various body parts and had tingling. I continued to titrate up and then all of a sudden when I was up near 70mg/day I noticed that all side effects were gone. It was weird that I felt crazy taking 10mg and then all of a sudden I took 40mg at one time and felt great. One suggestion: if you only drink at night then start taking bac in the afternoon and take heavy doses at night. This helped me stop having severe side effects at work and in the end I don't feel I need any in the morning but I start dosing around 1 pm so I'm prepared for the unrelenting "pull" toward al when I get home in the evenings.

      Good luck!
