          80-140mg per day depending on how I'm feeling
          Gender: Male
          Weight: 200lbs
          Maintenance Dose: 80
          Drinking History: Since I was 18 (29 now) I'd drink any time I could. If I had nothing to do during the day such as work I was drinking. If I did have work or something else I would get a 12 pack or a pint of vodka or both as soon as I was able to. Never went into DTs. I would also abuse Benzos (Xanax, Valium) while drinking. Six rehabs throughout my life. Prison for about eight months. Been on a regiment of Baclofen this time since February 2010. Totally AF. I had been on Baclofen since 2005 off and on and I never put two and two together. All I knew is that I wouldn't drink while I was on it.

                My switch appears to be 250mg. Prior to 250, I still had thoughts of alcohol that could easily devolve into cravings. At 250, I have virtually no thought of alcohol at all, and can easily walk down the beer/wine/liquor aisle at the store as though it was the cat food aisle. I am still going to push up to Ameisen's 2.4mg/kg and see where it gets me.

                Male, 36, 118kg, currently at 2.2mg/kg.

                I have been drinking (beer) heavily since 1992, when I started college. It started out around 4 beers/night, and gradually increased over about 3 years to 8-10 beers/night. In 1996 I started to suffer from depression, and my intake rapidly increased to 12-18 beers/night with binges up to 24-30 beers throughout the course of a weekend day. In 2010 prior to starting baclofen, I was drinking around 14 beers/night and/or 500mL of gin or absinthe with the occasional day off to recover.
                I started baclofen on May 28th 2010, and my drinking tapered down until July 7th 2010, when I went AF for about a month (at 200mg). I had a few binges in August, then spiraled into severe depression in September and the first part of October after tapering down baclofen, and started drinking heavily again. I ramped back up to 250mg on October 12th, and have been AF since.

                  Keep going Mo. Good to see where you are now.. See if you can find that switch where one's indifferent to alcohol. Sounds too good to be true in many ways!.

                  I'm male. 49, 80Kg. and today I'm on 200mg which is 2.5mg/Kg. Still no switch but different. Nice to know that I'm probably in spitting range of the switch as the SEs are a bit inconvenient.

                    I'm confused. I thought Ameisen's switch was at 3.6mg/kg... which I also thought was the standard to go for.

                    TTT says the highest reported switch was 3.6mg/kg, and the average is 2.34, which she says is "smack-on the prediction" -- where does this come from? Have I missed something?

                      I don't know, still haven't finished OA's book which incidently is a interesting as reading a Who's who of the Medical profession.

                      EDIT: Yeah it says 3.6mg/Kg in the book. Bummer

                        I'm confused, too, and concerned about misinformation getting out.

                          I'm sorry for not being clear. If threshold is 1 - 5, dead center is 2.5. Shoot for 3.6 if you need to, but I suspect (the new protocol) being able to sustain that dosage indefinitely would not be desirable, or even possible, for most people. If the long-term success stories here are any indication, it's not necessary to go that high to remain AF. Who knows whether the people who participated in this thread remained AF? I can only think of two off the top of my head who claim long-term sobriety, Tip and Sunny. Of course, people who did remain AF for an extended period of time would likely find other priorities than posting here, and that population might very well have higher numbers. Likewise, people who gave up on bac would also stop posting here, which is why I don't know whether to be encouraged or discouraged that many are not active here anymore.

                            The range in a recent french study was from 15 mg/day to 300 mg/day with an average of 145. We are "shooting" for a place where abstinence becomes reasonably easy. i post here so people will be hopeful and because I know a lot about this drug and feel there should be such a resource. I may stop posting after one year of abstinence as it does take time and thought.
