    Chocolate Mousse's Baclofen Journey

Ok here goes! I am going to start this thread of my baclofen journey for my own records and also because I want to share my journey as being here makes me feel less alone :l Was a little uncertain of starting this as I did not want share the amount of alcohol I was drinking!! But I have to be truthful.. Also I am awaiting Naltrexone in the post, but do not know yet how I am going to get on with the Baclofen, so here goes...

    Started on 8th January:-

    3 days on 3 x 5mg = 15mg
    3 days on 3 x 10 mg = 30mg
    3 days on 4 x 10 mg = 40 mg
a few aches in my legs and pains in my stomach. also some nausea but nothing unbearable.
Have been drinking 1 - 2 and half bottles a wine a day.

Hope and good wishes to us all.

      Thanks BH

Many thanks BH for your support.

In the past I have used willpower and hope to try and succeed in overcoming my alcohol problem. I know now this is never going to work for me, so hence my being here and giving drugs a go

I once went to an AA meeting and fully respect the people that this works for. I just do not have the courage to go down this route, so hence, am putting a lot of hope on this journey and all support truly welcomed.

      Again many thanks

        Oops!

Did not have a good night. Woke about 4am with nausea. Had been on 40mg for two days and 50mg for a day and upped it to 60mg yesterday. Titrated too soon. Of course I am also aware I consumed two bottles of wine yesterday!! Live and learn eh..

I know what you mean about AA went toa few meeting myslef was not my thing if anything made me feel worse about myself. I personally dont believe an al problem is down to weakenss of character but an inbalcne on the brain, I stand in testominy to that I have tried to many times to stop drinking and always always failed, but on the bac I have succeded ! a talbet cannot give you will power, its rewired my brain and for that I am very gratefull. Hope you feel better and stick with it . Keep posting I am watching with interest.

chcolate - we are at about the same time in startin bac. Actually I have had it for a couple months, but would forget to take it consistently. For the past two weeks I have slowly titrated from 15 to 30. I drink about the same as you, but last week I had three days AF. That has happened before so I'm not banking on anything. I weigh 170lbs (77k?) female, 51 yrs. I have been losing weight this year due to exercise, but stalled, probably due to that extra 500 -1000 calories every night !! Good luck, and I will follow your thread. Keep it up!

                Cm, well done!

U are being honest, I cannot relate to the wine too much, drank it at dinner at times w/ inlaws, but preferred my miller lite...... Lots of it!! I started at 30 mg and went up really quickly, weigh about 115 now, 120 maybe when I started, went waaayyy over the recommended dosing, but became indifferent. However I went af after about my 3rd day(which I would recommend, tho do what u see fit & r comfortable with) it just went easier without al....... Cannot wait to see your progress, great idea!!! Thanks for sharing this w/ us all:thanks:

best of luck and keep on posting your successs and slips, it will help others, truly!

                      So sweet!

Cm, u r so sweet, wishing u much love and success, in very good spirits right now, going to enjoy it while it lasts, nice to be working nights esp for the reason to be away from the abuse, going to lose myself in an aa meeting, dessert afterwards tonight from 8-10, can't happen quickly enough for this gal!!! Being away will be hard $$-wise, but so freeing, worth eating pb sandwiches for the rest of my life!

Hi Moussie, you say you keep having blips, but you know the saying' never give up giving up' and thats what you are doing. I am a 47yr old female 126lbs my weight has increased since bing on the bac, as its really cured my anxiety before i was so anxious and living on my nerves and hating myself that i could not eat. Now I am not only sober I am calmer healthier and mentally in hte best place that I have been for decades if not during the whole of my life. I would say that indiffernece came fairly quickly to me too Within a couple of weeks! but unfortunaltey I did not keep a detailed log like you are (i such a good idea)as it will help others and be something to look back on in the future. Good luck and keep us posted and will be rooting for you too mucht , this stuff really does work , feel I must bore peole ridged with my post singing its praises but I want others to experience what I have . !

And u never bore me w/ the praises of bac, I feel the same, born again at 46! Now in many other ways too...... Although today so far, the stars are not aligning with me, pray they do soon, I am getting pretty tired, have a job interview that I am very ambivilent about in about 15 minutes, then dealing w/ issues that r monetarily very frustrating!!!:upset:

                              BH and MA

Darn, just spent sometime in sending a post, dont know where it has gone

MA: Hope your AA meeting went well and it gives you what you need/want on this journey:l Again many thanks for sharing as you are doing good to us all on our journey :h

BH: Yes you are right about not 'giving up'. It takes patience which is sometimes hard on this journey! and please do not ever think you are boring anyone here, especially me!, with your accounts of your journey, as me and everyone else here need to hear of people's successes more so as it gives us hope on our own path in conquering this beast!

Update: Well am still on 50mg - 60mg daily as I do not want to titrate up too quickly as I do not know how much will be in my next drug batch! Have not understood yet how long or how much will be in my next batch. I have ordered from 4rx.com. I do not want to get to a place where I have titrated up to a certain amount without having my back up... so to speak.

With much love and hope on our journey to all:l:h
