    Chocolate Mousse's Baclofen Journey

    Hi CM,
I just want to say thanks for your thread on your Bac journey... I am waitning for my first shipment to get here, and anxious to start due to all of the positive posts I've seen here on it. Sure can't keep going like the last 6 -7 weeks, and Bac looks like the best option at this point. I have read almost every post on Bac on the entire board and I am so grateful to Zenstyle and Zman for the compendiums of users experiences.
MA & BH: Thank you also for your posts, brave and honest and so encouraging!
Not sure quite where I "should" be posting, so hope this is OK for now. I am having to force myself to post/communicate somewhere, have a tendency to withdraw and isolate, trying to overide that....
    With highest regards,
    Jenn

      Chocolate Mousse's Baclofen Journey

      Welcome Jenn

so glad I am not boring you all, but know I do have tendancy to ramble and this site is such a huge part of my recovery, posting elps me so much.

Jenn post wherever you like this is an open forum and you are welcome to post anywhere( I feel very passionate about that), as it had helped me so much want otheres to gain that support and help. I can empathis with you wanting to withdraw Jenn as this illness is a very private one, but can only speak from my experience knowing you are not alone and we have all been where you are at somepoint and we understand never judge and help where we can, having that is a wonderful tool to your recovery and i would urge you to make full use of it. Something that is also great and you might feel comfortable in time using is chat. The guys in there are wonderful and can give you such insight, support and laughter and some people have been af for a long while so their input is invaluable.

I order my bav from 4rx and can only say to date have had no problems witht them (fingers crossed need to place another order soon).

Moussie, I have lost post the same as you the best way to avoid that happening is click on remember me when you log in, that avoids the system logging you out if they think there has been no activity, which happens if you spend any amount of time writing a post, which is very annoying as we all put a lot into our posts and it a great form of therapy to get down in words how we are feeling and whats going on with us (another good reason to post Jenn ! ) and to get feed back from others. Keep up witht he dose M and keep us posted, do think it important to keep up with your supply of bac, just a shame we have to go through such uncinventionaly channels to get it ! but at least its out there. Oh and another thing i have learned through experience each batch may not be the exact same brand of baclofen, same drug but differant manufacturer and each one can vary slightly so take your time with a new brand and see how it works for you. My lastest on bacmax seemed a little stronger than the one I was one before and left me a little bit spaced out till I got used to it, did not help at christmas that i mis took 25mg tablets for 10mg ones and ended up taking a 65mg dose twice a day ( things were a little frantic so uped my dose) so instead of 50mg I was on 135mg !!!! I was off my head lol but i will watch it in future !

Has anybody heard how cg got on with the interview ? good i hope ! fingers crossed and positive thought to her !

Love and light to all you wonderful ladies and supremo guys !! keep fighting the cause !

      Yours Forever BH x

        Welcome Jenn

Yes i second BH here and :welcome:Yes I too have isolated myself with my drinking. I have found MYO to be a real blessing and I hope you to too:l Keep posting.

BH: I know you are doing the Nal and Bac combined. As i have posted on another thread I am so really afraid of them not working for me. I think I will try them both together. As I was going try just one and I had the back up, so to speak, if one did not work I had the other. I am putting all my hope them!! Also and I will post this somewhere else as well, I am using 4rx for my Bac and River Pharmacy for my Nal. I have just spoken to someone and they have really put the frighteners on me about getting drugs on the internet. Any comments... please?

        Love and hope to all

          Hey Mousse

I bought Nal from River to here in the UK and it was good service and definitely the real deal. More recently I used AllDayChemist as it was cheaper, and their meds are also the real deal (different brand though). I used Inhouse for my Bac, ditto! So, as long as lots of people have had good experiences and recommend certain companies I personally see no trouble ordering meds from the net.

You're welcome Mousse, if you'd like any more information about any of the places I've ordered from, just ask

It's not a bad idea at all to see if you can find some medical help. If you're in south east London (a long shot I know!) I can put you in touch with someone who's prescribed Nal on the NHS (now, this I have never heard of before!)

And I saw a private doctor in central London who prescribed Nal under The Sinclair Method, but for certain reasons I feel I might as well order online rather than see him again for the time being.

                Chocolate Mousse's Baclofen Journey

Thank you CM and BH for the kind welcome and info. I got to mod a couple of years ago using Topa and most all of the supps. I most always lurked then, and I still believe this forum helped me a lot. I will try to be better about posting this time. At least I have more availabilty to do so than then. Hoping to get a home-based job in the not too distant future, so having online buddies would likely be very helpful! Now if my Bac will just arrive, I'll fell like I am starting my new lifestyle...
                Thanks again,
                Jenn

                  thanks 8

Well as you know I;ve now started on the Nal, third day, and loving it! i know... its the honeymoon, but still enjoying. I am based in Manchester and would like to see a doctor. I do not expect much but would like to go down that route of having a doctor rather than not. so would like to give this a go. I think the main reason I would like to stop the Bac is because if the Nal does not work i have something to fall back on. I an truly want this Nal to work and if it does not well at least I will still have hope with the Bac. If i take the two together with the results not being positive I know i will be devestated. Hope to us all

                    Chocolate Mousse's Baclofen Journey

Mousse, I've heard a lot of stories about people taking Nal using TSM, and I think all of those who experienced initial side effects (including the 'honeymoon period') had success with it - so that's a very encouraging sign!!

I am sure that either Nal will work for you (just remember, it may take six months plus) or Baclofen (so you're stopping and using it as a future 'back-up plan' like I did?), so be positive, and look forward, with patience, to a very different future

Hi Moussie, not been on for a few days and still realing from CG (Mary Anne) what a bloody shame just hope she gets through this ! Goergaphically I dont think I am far from you I am an hours away from Manchester , I would be very interested if you can find a doctor, as I would go myself as self medicating is not ideal, but necessary at this moment in time.. I too take nal and bac with good results, although I am giving serious thought to going af ! . I have never heard about the honeymoon period on nal ? can anybody enlighten me ?

Love and light to you all and extra prays to MA xx

                          Chocolate Mousse's Baclofen Journey

Hi, if it's bac prescription you're interested in then I went to doc in UK when I was running out of bac and she was going to give me a dose of 165 mg to keep me at that dose but very reluctant to do so and made much more so by the news I intended to titrate up rather than down (as all UK docs have in their prescription 'bible' that bac ceiling limit is 80mg). That very day, oh the irony, my bac arrived and so doc off the hook...

                            Hi all

My prayers, first and foremost with Mary anne. I am now going solo with the Nal and have stopped the Bac. Wish me luck. I am now on the fourth session and loving it. I am aware this is the honeymoon period but I love it!! so here's hoping.

Hi BH> always good to hear from you. I will keep up this post or may be try another as I am now going to Nal a go and if no success will have the bac to fall back on Not much time now

                              Chocolate Mousse's Baclofen Journey

                              BH

It seems there is a honeymoon period in that when you first start on the Nal drinking and cravings go way down, as happened to me. I had only been on the Bac for about two weeks but just wanted to stop this haze of alkies sessions so started on the Nal and yes I have just spent my first weekend between Fri, sat and sun and drank just over two bottles of wine, before I would have had that in a day! This is the honeymoon period, did you not have that BH? The reason also for me giving up on the Bac was because of side effects and I did not want to start on two drugs with both giving side effects. I have not had any on the Nal. And also if the Nal does not work for me I have the BAc to fall back on where as if I had started on the two together I would not know which was working and which was not, does that make sense?? also if I started on the two together and had no success I know I would be absolutely devestated, no joking I am putting a lot of hope here.

Love and prayers to all but especially Cowgal right now

                              xxx

Mousse is right about the 'honeymoon period'. Some people get it when starting Nal - a short period of losing interest in drink. For me it only lasted two days, then straight back to normal, but it's quite a promising sign I think.

Mousse, are you slowly cutting down on the Bac? I hear it's not a great idea to stop suddenly.
