eight days' intro and Bac and Nal (Sinclair Method) progress

Try to keep up the dose on Bac - the reduction you have done yesterday might slap back today or the next day. I have noticed lately an additional layer of effect on Baclofen.

There seems to be an immediate effect on larger dose - which initially stopped my craving, but then there is also a second layer of action that is showing delayed effect - a sort of add-up effect it seems.

I increased the dose, and I felt fine, then 24-36 hours later I was feeling pretty "drunk" on Baclofen (without drinking anything).

This also confirms the other day when I reduced from 250mg to 150mg - all was fine - the next day 24 hours later the craving set in!

It is highly important to keep the dose on Baclofen constant. Threat it like Diazepam :H
If it was as dangerously addictive as diazepam I might be able to :H

Just joking - that is great advice craving, thanks!

To be honest, I'm not ruling out the Nal playing its part. It definitely has worked on the endorphin side, so much so that many weeks ago I was sure I was about to be 'cured'. It's going to take some experimenting in the future to work out what is doing what - as long as I keep on improving, of course!

By the way, that sounds like potentially a dangerous drop in Bac - 100mg in one day??!

Too kind of you Mousse, but I wonder if you meant to post in that other guy's thread - whatsisname now? - 'eight drinks a month' I think :H

      Sincerely, thank you :l

How are things with you? I don't see you post that much, I'd like to follow your own progress somewhere

eight days a week;810951 wrote: By the way, that sounds like potentially a dangerous drop in Bac - 100mg in one day??!
Yes my dealing with Bac was not that much with respect - as I increased in 2 days by 150mg and I did not fall dead - so I lost a little the respect about it.

The interesting part is that : After the 250mg -> 150mg I dosed it up and up - to reach a few days later 300mg.

In other words, the craving was back, I really needed to get more Baclofen in my body, and since it did not work instantly I added up too much kicking it to 300mg

Then later I dosed down to 100mg and felt extremely tired. So I added up - and increased to 187.50mg - that is when a few days later after the increase I was feeling kind of "drunk".

I learned the respect the hard way! I am now at 187.50 and I will reduce each day by 12.50mg and only every 4th day. So my body has plenty of time to get used to it.
Any other way will probably have me go down fast, but even faster going up again on Baclofen dosis.
since 23. Apr 2009 : TSM - failed to reduce units

to be honest I am here all the time lurking and looking in! but I do not post my progress, yet I think the reason I dont is because i would find it very disheartening if I made no progress. If on the other hand I find I am making progress I have every intention of posting as I have found the success stories very encouraging and I HOPE to add to them.

Ah I see Mousse, quite understandable - let's be very hopeful you can post that thread in the future then

*eight throws paper to Lo0p. Misses America but almost knocks his lamp off the desk* :H

I think the last figures I posted were for Monday not Sunday, but a day ohere or there doesn't matter I suppose. I do want to graph things eventually when I hopefully get my drinking really down.

                Tuesday:

                8mg diazepam
                55 mg Bac
                10 UK units again

                Yesterday (Wednesday):

                7mg diazepam
                50mg Bac
                10 UK units again :-)

The reason I'm struggling with the Bac is that it still makes me quite dizzy and spacey, and I'm trying to get out and about during the day which means driving, so I'm taking most of it in the evening. I'm extremely sensitive to medicines. Although I was taking 70mg for a few days, I think what my body's really used to now is 50-60mg. So I'm going to make sure I hit 60mg today, and try to slowly work it slowly up from there. As long as I'm consistently drinking no more than ten units per night (less than I have done most nights for over fifteen years probably...) then I'm fairly happy for the time being.

                Wishing everyone well

eight (hours of ironing alone to catch up on today - no joke alas!)

eight days' intro and Bac and Nal (Sinclair Method) progress

Ah, it seems I've drunk three or four units more in total over the last two days than I thought...mislabelling on another bottle of spirits made me confuse how much I'd drunk when I switched drinks

The other bottle said that 50ml of spirits at 37.5% was 1.8 units, but I think it's nearer 2...so I've been almost twelve the last two days. If I'd known I would have mixed slightly less in to stick to the ten, as that was my goal...

Tonight I think I'm going to drink a little bit more because I choose to, not because I need to. There's a huge difference for me. I've done well this last two weeks, and my goal is not complete abstinence (unless it just so happens that I feel like it, and I honestly wouldn't mind if I did) and physically I'm 3000% better than I was (approx!)

I'm positive the way things are moving forward, now if only I can up my Bac a bit from the 50mg (again yesterday) I may go much further, but at least I seem to be tolerating it much better suddenly today.

                      Best wishes to all

Thanks a lot tip, yes indeed, I've made great progress

BUT as soon as I wrote the last post on here I realised how complacent I'm maybe getting, and after only one or two good weeks, and that after months of terrible misery!! Time to be very, very careful I think...

This weekend may tell me a lot about exactly where I am, very likely.

Fingers crossed it's the right direction...

Anyway, wishing everyone a great weekend

                              Hi again 8
Not sure if this helps, but when I asked my specialist how long to stay on a dose before going up, he said a week. I was surprised at this, because I've seen people here going up faster. You might also do what I did--go up 2.5 milligrams at a time (assuming you have tabs that can be broken that small) and see if that helps. The point is, it's better to go up slower and be able to stand the side effects than it is to get peed off and quit altogether. Your'e doing well, though.
