Anyway - if you know of a reputable internet site, would be most interested. Did order some skeevey (expired?) antibiotics from the 'net once and do not want a repeat of that scary experience. Thanks all.

Where to get baclofen?
I was wondering where most folks here get their baclofen....doctor or internet? I am willing to try the internet. Live in rural midwest (they LOVE 12 steps here!) and pretty sure the drs. I have been seeing will NOT prescribe baclofen for me...also would love to avoid the whole unpleasant medical documentation of my drinking....

I will also bump it for you.Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Where to get baclofen?
6Katz,
In my opinion, Dr is the best way to go, but maybe cause in Canada the RX is covered by my benefits. As well, I am sure it's the same in the US that your medical files are confidential and no one can can see them, not even a spouse. I guess I am big on having a doctor's input but again, our health absorbs the cost - we just pay through the nose in taxes!

Where to get baclofen?
Thanx, Hoping...I absolutely do NOT want anything in my insurer's files...in the US, in my experience, you are tracked my your name and DOB (recently called a clinic for a regular checkup and they had me on file from 10 years ago because I was at their clinic in a different area...miles and miles apart...hello!?) and I know what people's (i.e. my relatives/coworkers/friends) reactions are to people "in treatment"---NOT SUPPORTIVE, NOT GOOD. Having a "drinking problem" is anathema to them!!!!!!!! You can read "my story" as well on this site...I have seen my dad go through this. I am glad you have a good doctor and health coverage that will help you, but I do not have the same.... Best of luck, Hoping. I will try to hang in there and post my experience. ~6Katz

6Katz - I sell insurance & know that if you have to buy your own insurance (if you don't have insurance through an employer), you'll most likely be declined by most of the major carriers if you have a record of "alcoholism". They'll find your prescription records & that would flag it during the underwriting process, even if you don't disclose it. If the drug you're taking is actually for a different condition (i.e., for seizures like the Topamax) then you can really forget it.
I myself will buy what I need online & have no record of it in my medical files, or I'd be unable to get new insurance. I'd suggest the same for anyone else in this position. Once your information is out there - it's there for all to track . . . .

I don't know the ins and outs of insurance in the U.S., but I can certainly confirm from my experience that just about everything that goes through "official" channels (i.e. doctors, insurance, welfare, etc.) is accessible to those who want the information. This is pretty much true throughout Europe, and my understanding is that it is even more extreme in the U.S.
So, although I also think that ideally, one goes through a doctor, I understand 6Katz's reluctance. And I think 6Katz is absolutely right in being worried about having this on the record.Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... Where to get baclofen?
I totally agree with whats being said I would not want al on my medical record I once mentioned it to my doctor and felt like a leper he sent me to see an alcohol conucillor which was a total farse !! the guy did not have a clue ! I was better placed to concil him ! Bit I digress . I have been able to ride over it by saying I was going through a tough divirce so my drinking was a temp thing ! big big lie and that was 7/8 years ago would never mention it again . Fortunatly we do not need medical insurance here in the UK . I agree once its out there its there to risky career wise as well.
I get my baclofen from 4rx posted earlier today how I am pleased with their service, just my personal experience ! good luck and I hope you get the meds you need by whatever means you can .

Where to get baclofen?
It's unfortunate....I ordered online for a year, then finally got enough nerve to speak to my family dr. At first I merely mentioned the fact that I am drinking too much and often. Then I said piss on it, and faxed her as much info as I could on baclofen without giving her the book. I had an appt but had to miss it, then finally got another and she said she was disappointed that I couldn't make it to my first appt. She was/is so excited about the information! She wrote me a script. I'm not sure if she realizes that it can get up there in terms of mgs, but she's on board and I feel extremely fortunate.AF July 6 2014

I know fg its a big plus of living in the UK which most people take for granted, especially as I dont think the UK get a very good press globally. I think we pay much high taxes on fuel etc to fund it but I am happy to do so . I am just grateful that baclofen is a relativly cheap med to buy online otherwise the cost would prohibit its long term use . The only down side to our medical system is that as we get it free we do not get the consideration given to use that you seem to get your your medics as you are buying your service. Bit all in all we get a good deal and its a sysytem that I for one would fight tooth and nail to preserve ! And one that makes me proud to be British !

But nonetheless, I am careful about what I divulge, because everything that you discuss with your doctor will be in a record somewhere. I have learned this first-hand.
I have used private doctors for this reason. They cost a lot (compared to the nearly free state-health doctors), but they do not put all the information into the system.
6Katz, this might be something to look into?Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
