Any women hit the switch (with bac)?

    Hello All,

I am doing ok on the Bac at the moment - very newly AF (6 days). Still only on 60 - 70 mg a day.The other things I am doing are Meditation, Exercise and beginning to explore the Sedona Method (dealing with emotions and reactions caused by them).
Still having the odd thought about Al. A few 'wouldn't it be nice' thoughts which I let pass.
I have decided to name booze the 'Wolf in sheeps clothing' and am beginning to refer to it as that.
But, I have no immediate work stresses in my life at the moment as my career is going quite well. So I need to prepare now for a time when I feel under pressure.
Am going to begin to work on 2 toolboxes (quite literally). One medium (for in my home studio) and one small (to take to with me when I work away from home) I am going to fill them with inspiration, relaxation techniques, L -Glut, Extra Bac, etc etc.
I think it will be quite comforting to be able to go and get my toolbox when the time comes that I am feeling like drinking.

TSM is The Sinclair Method, which involves taking Naltrexone over a long period of time (only before you drink). There are thousands of threads on this here, so if you are interested, read all the threads on Naltrexone and TSM.

You sound like you are doing quite well and you have a great plan! Do you find the L-Glut works? How do you take it and when?

              Hi Christy,
Here is some info on L-Glut:
L- GLUTAMINE STABILIZES BLOOD SUGAR & DECREASES ALCOHOL CRAVINGS

Glutamine does this by several mechanisms. When the blood sugar is low, Glutamine suppresses insulin to stop the further decline of the sugar levels. It also stimulates glycogen (a stored form of glucose) to be released to help increase the blood sugar to normal levels.

Further, Glutamine is a glycogenic amino acid which means it can convert to sugar for energy production, a process called gluconeogenesis. It is the most important such substance.
These blood sugar stabilizing effects may partially explain why it decreases alcohol cravings, as well as sugar cravings. In studies with alcoholics, 2000-3000 mg 3 times daily decreased the desire to drink, decreased anxiety, & improved sleep. It works best given between meals. Has been used for this purpose in daily doses from 6000-15,000 mg in 3 divided doses. Use upon arising, mid-morning & mid-afternoon between meals.
I have capsules on hand. If I feel an immediate urge, I break a capsule open under my tongue and let the powder dissolve. It does seem to help.

No but I suggested it to my girlfriend that has had some problems with binge eating. Since then it is totally gone. L-Glutamine is really a miracle!

I am fine with the Baclofen - I try to take as less as possible.

                      L-glut

On the Holistic Forum, you can find very much shared information and experience about this subject.

My personal experience is that l-glut does absolutely nothing for my cravings.

Nonetheless, I am convinced that l-glut is an excellent supplement, something our bodies may need for many different reasons.

I take 6g of l-glut every morning. I don't know if it does anything for my health or well-being, but my research tells me it's good. So I keep doing it.

To change the subject, are there any other women out there who care to come forward with their amazing "switch" results?

Great. Beatle hasn't reached switch yet. Two gave up the bac, one is dead and the others don't post here anymore.

I'm just not seeing overwhelming inspiration here! :upset:

I wasn't going into much detail Tracy, just looking for posts that said women had it hit the switch. It's hard to go into their stories from so far away.
