    Baclofen inquiries

Does anyone know if someone was to start receiving doses of baclofen and didn't know it and they were alcoholic, would that harm them? Or could it possibly have an effect on them that might help them without them knowing it? Anyone have any input on this subject?

Giving somebody something without them knowing it necessarily brings up ethical questions, as well as physical ones. I suspect this is the reason you have not had any replies to this post.

Studies so far seem to indicate that the effect of baclofen is not a placebo effect. But larger studies need to be done to establish this (and we all know that won't happen until somebody figures out how the drug companies can make a killing out of it).
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

This question came up last year. The answer is that any which way you look at it, it's a very bad idea. It's not only illegal and dangerous, but bad manners. I can sympathize with the frustration of seeing a loved one harming himself with alcohol and then refusing treatment (a treatment that actually has a chance of working instead of just the modern form of bleeding called rehab), but slipping bac into their whey will not pass muster.

we were considering that at one point as my father is scizophren but would not agree to see a doctor. if he was at a doctor he was playing 'all is normal'. i never understood his problem - he seems to be too 'wrongly' proud to admit that he has a problem (and i thought that only applies to addicts!!)

there are a lot of legal issues about that. also bac needs to be taken very frequent. i doubt you can give it unknown to him so many times regulary!
