    Dr.Ameisen and Nal?

    Hi to all,
Can anyone answer this for me please?
When Dr.Ameisen tried Naltrexone for 12 to 18 months, with no positive outcome for him,was he following TSM,or trying to stay abstinent?
    Thanks in advance :thanks:

Answer: Although he didn't call it TSM, he drank like a fish, with brief breaks, until 270 mg baclofen. There was no change with nal. So I'd call it pretty close to TSM.

the way i understood it he did not follow the TSM idea of taking Nal just before drinking. he also took it in the rehab, which I consider very contraproductive.
the other times he was drinking yes - but most likely the how long before he took it makes a difference!
since 23. Apr 2009 : TSM - failed to reduce units
since 08. Jan 2010 : Naltrexone + Baclofen combination therapy
reborn since 16. Jan 2010 : Alcohol Free (AF) - only taking Baclofen
        since 22. May 2010 : Baclofen against anxiety/fear
        since 14. Mar 2011 : off Baclofen - taking 25mg Topamax/day

I believe he was using it by the current medical protocol, to try to stay abstinent.

As we all know, that simply does not work.

No, if someone is not taking Naltrexone only when they drink they are not following the Sinclair Method, and there are trials which show that does not work.
