This is a challenge for all those on Bac that havent been AF yet. I would like those brave soldiers that want to be AF to take this challenge and set a firm date where they will commit to trying to become AF. Who will join me?

I would very much like to join you guys...but I need a date further off.
But, thanks to this great suggestion, I'm going to aim for one month from now for my first AF day.
That'll be a huge accomplishment for me, I'll mark it in my diary tomorrowI don't come here much anymore but you can always mail me at rotunda 2000 at hotmail dot com (no spaces). Might be able to help with Bac emergencies

glad you joined us Nykat and Eight. I had to make today be the day. Nykat, I did topa a year ago and quit for 30 days. I had a hard time with the side effects. I tried it again before going on Nal and it did not do anything. I am hoping the Bac works took 5 mg 3 times today. Today is ok since I felt so bad but tomorrow will be hard so I am going to take 10mg right before I leave the office and not take any Nal. If I can make it through day two that will be huge. Keep posting and together we can get thru. Hoping has made it 30 days! Congrats.

I am starting on baclofen today. This is my 6th day AF! Been on an emotional rollercoaster all week. I hope this will calm me down. I'm committed to staying sober!I'm not what I should be, I'm not what I could be. I'm definetly not who I want to be,
but I'm sure not who I used to be!

welcome. Today is my 7th day on Bac, did not crave yesterday but probably cause I was hung over but made it through. Today is day 2 and good so far but the 5:00 bewitching hour is not here yet. Going ot do some stuff after work to switch up the routine a bit so maybe it won't seem so bad and the ntake 10mg of bac once I am home and don't have to drive any where. I was so disgusted with myself yesterday for blacking out the night before that when I saw the thread from hoping I felt it ws a prayer answered. I will be thrilled when tomorrow at this time I can say I made it thru day 2. Whoo-Hoo

nykat;820304 wrote: Good for you, making today the day!!!!:goodjob: I have to ask, did you hit the "switch" where you don't crave alcohol any longer or are you just fighting the craving? Good luck and please keepposting!!
Welcome! I am soo glad you are here! I dont know if i hit a switch, I doubt it. I was on bac for 4 days and decided to just stop drinking. The first night was a little difficult but when I took my evening dose of bac, it relaxed me enough that I just felt calm and tired so al didnt consume my thoughts. After a couple of nights like this, I just started getting into the mind set of not drinking in th eevenings. I know some (or most) keep drinking, waiting for a "switch" but I have the mentallity that maybe just give it up and let bac reduce the cravings that way. it worked for me.
I wish you luck tonight, and I will probably be on chat tonight, please keep in touch and let us know how it goes! I know you can do it!

My doctor dose is 5 mg 3 times a day. That seems like a very low dose. Is anyone taking higher doses? Only my 2nd day so haven't noticed any difference. Today is my 1 week anniversary AF though!I'm not what I should be, I'm not what I could be. I'm definetly not who I want to be,
but I'm sure not who I used to be!
