Baclofen and No Libido

I'm at 120 mg Baclofen a day, my drinking is down by three-fourths. This is good.

I am able to fulfill my husbandly duties with the help of Viagra (I'm 65) but I'm not getting anything out of it. No desire, no orgasm. This is not so good.

I'm not giving up on Baclofen and hope I hit my switch soon. Anybody who has had similar experiences please comment. When you reach your switch and taper back does your desire return?

Hi azu...gee Im impressed 65 and still going strong well done...I'm considering putting my libido thingy in bubble rap and off to long term storage and Im 46. You must be a great husband.
You ask a valid question Baclofen is a muscle relaxant however what it does to sexual parts of the brain who knows ?..The whole gabba A and B receptor issue both of which are associated with the pleasure seeking aspects of the brain are still a unfolding scientific discovery.. I m interested that you take Viagra which i assume assists with erectile dysfunction ie the getting it up scenario .... but are you referring to the mental decrease in the need for sex? A couple of posters have said the dick dont work anymore.... that seems to me to be the phsyical muscle relaxant thing,,,,,,but one poster taking Bac said it has massivley increased his desire for sex and was wondering what to do( I would have thought that was obvious)... Thank you for posting the question.... sorry no answer but maybe we are taking the same Bac because at the moment I am a good candidate for a monastery that requires sobriety and no sex much to the annoyance of my partener.

80mg of Bac have destroyed my sex-drive, and I need to go higher of course. Actually the effect kicked in around 70mg. I'm pretty sure it's only a temporary side-effect, but that's just a gut feeling.

There was another thread about this a while ago which I stopped reading after one or two posts which, while no doubt meant to be harmless, struck me as extremely insensitive. Perhaps some useful pointers were posted after I jumped ship?

That was my thread that was hijacked. I wasn't offended, because it was a touchy situation, but it is one that is dear to my heart, lol. I have experienced the very same 'lack of feelings' as you have dog. I mean, my drive wasn't the greatest before, however, now it is non existant....and without orgasm. Then you keep thinking about it, and it gets worse.....

I would be very interested in anything you find out. I mean, I would like to work on the sobriety issue first and foremost, but I would like to enjoy remembering having sex!

I would also love to hear what, if any, solution there is for this. Especially considering that we're supposed to be on it for life! And I'm a 31 year old male and only currently at 60mgs, and I've been taking Bac for 5 months now. I can orgasm well enough, but my general desire is down in a pretty major way. The other side effect has been bad breath, so maybe its a godsend that my desire is down since so are my chances...

The only thing I have heard is anecdotal and on this forum. I will continue to research and experiment. I'm not ready to give up such a big chunk of my life, even if it is reduced by age. I think once again response to Bac is individual on so many levels.

No problem. I dont have any pride to lose, I've never been a macho type of dude. As you get older its all about loss and wisdom you wish you had at 25. Oh, the places I could have gone! At any rate, I've been trying herbal stuff, which has worked in the past....and supposedly for women also. But when one is on an anti-depressant, BP meds, and Bac everything below the waist is caput! (Blazing Saddles). I'm getting tired of taking pills. Drink has always been a refuge, one I could afford to give up if Bac will make me 'indifferent'.
Let us know if you find anything (no porn, I dont want to feel more inferior!)

We all are different. When I take bac my libido increases rocket high. I read of many other cases when bacloifen was used as afrodisiac. It is better than viagra.

My libido did a massive downturn on the Naltrexone. Totally lost interest but did still orgasm when my partner initiated it. I am hopeful that it will pick up on the Baclofen. It is encouraging to read Rudolf and TTO's experiences.

There is a herbal called "horny goat weed" that they used to sell at our supermarket but don't any longer. I will see if I can get some from a healthfood store or pharmacy.
