I think I'm doing something wrong on posting reply ...I'm very interested in contacting Dr. Levin as my husband and I are just about to try the baclofen route by ourselves (ordering online). Our family dr. would only give him 1 week's supply of baclofen and won't go the treatment. He's been on campral, and starting to withdraw from that before we start him on the baclofen by ourselves. We don't wish to add to the flood of calls Dr. Levin will be receiving; so would like to give him our e-mail (perhaps leaving a msg. by phone). This would be a godsend having his advice (we're frightened but determined to try baclofen). Sorry if this is a duplicate post... don't think the first one went through.

eileen, I asked the doctor three times saying do you really want me to give out your phone number, do you know how many people will call you? and he said it didn't matter he doesn't want people doing this on their own and that those that call will have to be patient and wait in line until he talks to them. Like I said before he's a true believer like Dr. Ameisen.

Hi Corkit,
Congratulations to you and your husband that you found this wonderful doctor to help you and your husband! Not all doctors are created equal and I have found SO many who lack compssion. He's a rarity in the medical field, I think.
Good for you!

Corkit, Thanks for the assurance about calling Dr. Levin. I notice his e-mail address was deleted (which I tried unsuccessfully). I'll call him tonight with a couple of quick questions. I hope he doesn't regret his generous offer with many, many calls... but also hope the many are encouraged and helped.
Again, thanks!

The only thing he did was make sure the meds we were taking didn't interfere with the BAC. Remember he is so gun-ho about BAC that his interest in Nal is next to nothing. I guess if we asked Dr. Sinclair about BAC we would get the same attitude.
Thanks for the reply corkit I find that fascinating, as obviously you're taking Nal for the same hopeful outcome. Does he know you're using it under The Sinclair Method? I would've thought that he'd suggest stopping it (he seems so certain about Baclofen that it wouldn't be necessary!) especially as it's a powerful medicine that, amongst other things, blocks the effects of opioid-based pain medications.

again, thanks!

Again, thanks!I don't come here much anymore but you can always mail me at rotunda 2000 at hotmail dot com (no spaces). Might be able to help with Bac emergencies

Henrietta, it wasn't so brave as it is being desperate to find help and if it took some guts it was so well worth it to find him and to know such a kind man at that.
8, yes he knows we take Nal but he reacted as though we told him we took cough medicine. He said once we tried and followed the BAC the way he prescribed nothing else would matter because we'd be cured, so I guess he didn't really need to say much about Nal.

I am also in the UK and don't want to call the doctor just yet (if at all) because I think there are others here that are more in need of help right now but could you give us some insight of how to take the bac without SE?
I am on the verge of giving up again (second time) because I am so tired on it, and even appear to be drunk on it - slight slurring and stumbling etc.
Any insights you could give would be really appreciated.

tryagain, pls look at the threads I just bumped up to the top. One of them is specifically about Bac SEs.
In my experience, very slow titration keeps the SEs at bey.
I have experienced almost no tiredness on it by taking it very slowly.
Other side effects have been uncomfortable, but receded in relatively short time.
If you are as desperate as i have been, the side effects are tolerable, given the alternative.Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Tryagain, beatle is right on what he said. I wish I could tell you how to do it but I promised the Dr. Levin that I would not give out medical advise on this forum and that's the reason he told me to give his phone number so he could council you himself. If you can't call let me know and I'll pm you his email.
don't give up! he claims he cured 40 patients 100% with next to NO SE!

All,
I agree with beatle:slow titration = no SE's. Baclofen is a very safe drug provided you titrate up and down slowly. It's just that simple.

I was unable to get through to him tonight. I'm sure he must be inundated with calls. If I can't get through tomorrow night, would it be OK corkit to pm you for his email address?? I a having such incredible SEs, mostly intense vertigo. and none of the relaxation effect that Dr A talks about in his book.
Obviously learnig the exact way to take bac would help....
Thanks again for this hopeful info!
be well,
