    RE: baclofen half-life

Since I am litterally staggering around my house due to vertigo at 10 a.m. after taking 75 mg of bac at 3:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. yesterday, I decided to persue just what the half-life of bac is.... Maybe this will help someone else, too.

"The half-life of a medication is the time it takes for your body to metabolize and excrete a drug so that half of the drug is removed from your body. Most drugs clear the system within 5 half-lives.
Multiplying the half-life of a drug by 5 will give you the amount of time needed for most medications to clear the system.

The half-life of baclofen is 2-4 hours; therefore, the drug should clear your system within 10-20 hours."

    RE: baclofen half-life

Thank you Jenn. There has been some discussion about this, but I, for one, definitely misunderstood it. I assumed that if Baclofen's half-life is 4 hours, it would be cleared by the system in eight hours. But I'm still not sure I understand it...
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

      RE: baclofen half-life

      Jenn,

Half life is not a good concept for baclofen. You can't just quit and expect the side effects to go away. There are withdrawal effects. You must titrate up and titrate down SLOWLY. Doing either quickly can lead to serious consequences. Please be careful.
