First day on Topa...

Hi Lakesider,

I live in Auz. I've been hanging around here since the end of Jan. It's been amazing so far. I have cut my drinking ALOT although I still need to stop.

I started Topamax on Monday. I also take L-Glut.

Why not hop into the Newbies Nest in the Starting Out Section. There are also some other interest threads in there about plans and getting started.

There are Aussies and NZers on "The Next Day Thread" in the General Section. No-one's excluded from anywhere but there are a few time-zone related threads.

Lastly, welcome. This place is awesome.

thanks so much Spam....thats fantastic.....why have you gone on Topamax ....and is it available here in Aus??....have you tried or read about baclofen???....have used glut in the past but forgot about it.......thanks again....

First day on Topa...

Hi Lakesider,

I chose Topamax as I am a migraine sufferer as well (although I can cope with my migraines). All the meds look like they have pretty bad side effects but I thought I could cope with the Topa ones as they are not too different from the potential side effects of the anti-depressents I am on. And I know they passed pretty quick.

I spoke to my doctor but only about migraine and Topamax is the only med that fits in with my anti-depressents and blood pressure meds. I also need to lose weight and that's one of the side effects.

I've only been taking it for three days though. Tablet 4 is tonight - I am only taking 25 mg per day - and I already have the Topa Dopa. So far, it's better than a hangover though.

Ask anything you want here. There are SO many people with different experiences. Long term abstainers through to people who have just arrived.
