High bac maintenence dose concern
I'm waiting on my Bac to arrive and am a touch concerned about what if I'm one of the ones that needs a highish maintainece dose to keep the cravings away. I don't know if I'd be to happy about taking say 120mg of any drug everyday for the rest of my life? Was just wondering if anyone else has been concerned in the pastStarted TSM 07/12 Pre TSM... 50-100 UK units

High bac maintenence dose concern
Hi Brave. I'm more than happy to take it up to say around 200mg or so to get to the switch as they say but staying up around 150mg just to keep the demons away I'm not to sure about. I'm hoping I don't have to go to high as my drinking is sparatic to say the least. I'm not a daily drinker and can go weeks without a drink or maybe a week without one in my hand! To be honest if it was just my drinking some might even say I don't have a problem but I'm what you call a polyuser with coke valium and anything elseat hand going down my neck whilstb on a binge. I was looking at the SM but to be honest I'm just sick of the sight of alcohol and would rather stop here and now.Started TSM 07/12 Pre TSM... 50-100 UK units

My understanding is that if you titrate down very slowly after you hit the switch, and if the cravings return, increase a little, and then titrate very slowly again... that most people come to a far lower dose for maintenance than for the switch. Like everything else, it varies from person to person, and I even know of people on this site who decreased to 0 and only take bac occasionally, when they feel some cravings coming on.
I'd rather not take bac (or anything) at high levels for the rest of my life, but if I have to take a high level of bac for the rest of my life to stay sober, it's utterly impossible that it could do me more harm than alcohol for the rest of my life.Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

I hit my switch over a year ago at 150. I am now at 60, and doing well.Started TSM 07/12 Pre TSM... 50-100 UK units

thank you for all that information and an exremely valid comment bettle bac versus al no contest. I am just going to put a post up about going to low on the bac some of you may find intersting. But what I have found it that since being on the bac ( i am not af I mod) that al does not give me that same buzz that it did before. In the past 3 glasses of wine and I would be high and craving more, but that high does not happen now, so for me its not just the cravings that have gone but the buzz I really believe this stuff plays a part in rewiring our brains ! I hope it does as that may contribute to a long term cure without high dose meds ?
