Have you tried baclofen and did it work for you?
I started Bac on Feb 04/10, starting with the usual 5-5-5, titerated up to 20-20-20. Became AF after 10-10-10. I cant tell you if there was a switch or if it was just sheer determination to give up AL but at this dose, I never think about AL anymore, do not crave it, do not wish I could drink in social settings. I am happy with a bottle of water. As far as drinking history; I started when I was probably 18 (39 now) as a social drinker, tapered off at around 25 when I got married and started raising a family. Then I moved to a new city and started hanging out with a coworker who drank everynight after work (early 30s) and I started having a few afterwork, and gradually a 12 pack of beer a week became about 1.5 years ago, drinking everynight; drinking whiskey straight for nothing other than getting drunk fast. I have never been able to handle my liquor; and doesnt take a lot to get me drunk. I weighed about 155lbs at the end. I cant begin to express my gratitude to baclofen.
Hope I have included all info you want and not too much fluff!

Have you tried baclofen and did it work for you?
I am 53, female, 149lbs been drinking since 18. I typically have a bottle of wine a night, sometimes a little more. I basically drink till I pass out or fall asleep.
I am up to 130mg of Bac and this week have had 2 bottles of wine (8 units of AL) Its been 4 years since I have had such a low unit count. I am going to TRY to make it through the weekend without AL. I have not yet hit my switch (perhaps I would have by now if I could abstain, but then why would I need the Bac if I could abstain?? ) but I feel I am getting nearer. The cravings are nowhere near as intense. Sometimes I drink just because I am used to it.
My side effects are sleepiness, which didn't come about till 130mg, and calf cramps/restless legs at night. I am wondering if the latter is brought about by exercise - it seems worse the nights after my cycling class (very intense cardio) could it be lactic acid? Anyone else experience this?
At any rate, I am hopeful to say the least. Tonight will be a challenge as hubby will be gone - huge trigger for me (he doesn't drink and doesn't like it when I do. I have such a high tolerance he usually can't tell, and he's a cop!!) But, I am so psyched at the thought of only having a drink count of 8 for the week I am going to try my hardest.Go before that fire there, at the altar of your heart

Baclofen
Interesting forum. I was on Baclofen around 2 years a go, my drinking had got pretty heavy & couldnt stand the anxiety & panic attacks. My doctor gave it to me & I beleieve I got up to 180 before I hit the switch. Sadly my Doctor refuse to prescribe it again when he saw what dose I was on.. I did explain to him that I will be taking a high dose.. I'm now off the wagon & getting through a bottle of vodka a day. Does anybody know of a reliable online pharmacy where I can get Baclofen without a prescription. Desperate.

4rx messed me about and my credit card got cancelled as they reckoned there had been scams. Also got loads of spam after I had ordered (like 80 a day.)
May all be a coincidence but the Baclofen I got seemed real enough.
I will go back to United Pharmacies in future.

Good luck!
