I'm going through San Antonio - Home town of some of the original topa studies! Finally help. Started the sinclair method about 2 months ago but wanted a doctor behind me instead of just ordering pills from india. She started me on 25 mg Topa up'd 25 mg weekly, I take 50mg Naltrexone, 20mg SSRI pexeva (anti-depressant anti-anxiety) I've noticed the pexeva and Nal helps with me with my porn addiction quite a bit, 1mg klonopin, and 40mg Propranolol or Inderal as many know it by (Beta Blocker, fight or flight stopper, anti anxiety, Stops my hands from shaking) in the morning. Now I only take 100mg Topa at night, it knocks me out usually within an hour, it is beautiful, hypnogagic imagery, sleep, awake, dream, awake, until I go from my computer to bed. I know this might sound over medicated but I developed into serious advanced alcoholism early. I'm 25 and am hoping NAL + TOPA will stop this. I've tried everything else but this approach. My last thing would be to add baclofen. My question is should I break the Topa so i'm taking 25 in the morning and 75 at night, 50mg morning 50mg night??? I don't want to be tired all day combining Topamax with a benzodiazepine, ya know? Right now I have 25mg Topas and 100mg Topas, all legally prescribed so I'f I wanted to I could just not cut them and up myself and take the 100 at night and take the 25 in the morning. I'm calling my doc on monday to find out about this as she has risen my dose 25mg each week, this will be the first week without a raise in the Topa and I still always want a drink, although I work fine throughout the day, but every day when I get off, a couple margaritas at work coming home to a nice 6 pack of tall boys. This is week 4 into Topamax, Probably week 8 into Naltrexone sinclair method although now I take Nal every day (I usually drink daily). Side effects from Topa are little if anything, don't mind pins and needles, but somnolence and loss of appetite are apparant:new:. No Dopa. Thanks MYO!!!

Topamax 100mg nightly - Should it be split?
Topa is usually split dosage. I think it works by staying at a level in the system to curb the urge to drink but I'm not a chemist . . . .I'd talk to your doctor. It completely took away my urge to drink. Sounds like your still drinking quite a bit on a daily basis with all of the meds. You may decide not to take it at all if it's not having the desired effect. If I was still drinking a lot on it, I would curtail the taking of the drug and just drink. (but, that's just me . . .) Again, talk to the doc. Read what others have to say. Most people on it cut back a great deal or lose their desire to drink when taking it.
