Hopes and dreams and idle (sober) minds

This is going to take me quite a few edits to finish completely. I gotta go hit the gym but I'll edit more in tonight hopefully.

Well this is getting a little cumbersome and I'm sure that there will be a million questions but I'm editing more in and going forward with it.

I remember reading this ages ago. If you had titled it "massaging the g-spot with your eyes" or "the easy way to buff" I'd have been able to find it again!

Awesome in 40 days and it looks like only 1 hour and 45 mins exercise/training per day. I'm sure you'll burst my bubble and tell me that you also wore a 50Kg vest whist you went to work, meditated 6 hours a day with your hands plunged in red hot sands or the like.

So to lose weight: Morning exercise and no carbs
Gain muscle: Painful weights and carbs at night

              Makes great sense.

Now I can deal with those love handles

                    Wow Loop! You're hot!

And were you trying to recreate the whole Weiner scandal with your pics?? Heehee. (I didn't look at the dates. I suspect this had to be over a few months so that isn't possible, but it's a little ironic given your av).

Anyways, congrats on the workout regime and, of course, being AF!!

Those kinds of before and afters are common on fitness websites. It's one way for us to keep track of progress along with body measurements/weight/bodyfat % and other things. They're posted up on the main one I used to frequent, but I thought they were actually more relevant here because you people would understand my story better.

You missed my run for Weiner's seat when he resigned:

I'll still take your vote though!

Hi and congrats on the success in so many areas. I came across this from your reply to another post and I was interested in what you have for your protein/carb meals.

Hopes and dreams and idle (sober) minds

I've changed my eating habits quite a bit, for the better I think. I no longer follow a protocol like the one I posted about above, I do Intermittent Fasting. I learned about from Martin Berkhan and his Leangains blog. It is soooo much easier! I don't worry about what time I'm going to eat anymore!!! Very liberating.

My macros (protein/carb/fat) for cutting fat are pretty simple:

                          Day on:

Meal 1 (couple of hours before gym): 38g P and 14g F or 30-40g C (or both sometimes)

Meal 2 (couple of hours after gym): 76g P and 70-100g C (starchy) plus whatever incidental fat there is in the meat. Or maybe I'll even bake a monster potato (hyooge) and put some lowfat sour cream on it. I don't worry much about clean food & dirty food anymore (it's a myth). Sometimes I'll make my self a humongous hoagie with 246g of chicken (cooked) on it and all the fixin's. My sis even has this mayo that tastes relly good but is still low fat that I put on it. But usually it'll be like a chicken and rice stir fry or something. If it's a steak I'll pick a leaner cut. Oh and I eat mountain loads of veggies with everything and don't bother to count the carbs in them. I only count starchy and sugary carbs.

Meal 3: 60-70g P and 70g C plus incidental fat. This one is pretty much a staple for me: 1lb+ of lowfat cottage cheese mixed with tons of berries and fruit and a bit of Stevia extract. Mmmm...dessert. If I choke down the cottage cheese with just some plain Stevia and also omit the carbs from Meal #2 I can actually get away with throwing back some low fat ice cream and still get ripped.

                          Day off:

Pretty much I just try to get 170-190g of P and about 60g of F with maybe 40g of starchy carbs or a piece of fruit or something. All that spread out into 2 or 3 meals starting at 5pm or so, but sometimes as late as 7 or 8. So it's a high protein high fat day. Good stuff (steaks, bacon, eggs, cheese). If you need to watch your cholesterol then you'll have to tend toward healthier fats (salmon, avocado, nuts).

But that all depends on your age, weight, metabolism, sex and activity level. I'm 30 :upset:, ~170lbs, pretty much solid muscle (so my metabolism is a notch or two above most people's), vehemently male and my activity level is as follows: I only exercise 3-4 times a week for a grand total of maybe two and a half hours! I only lift weights (with a focus on intensity) and do no cardio. I am a food server so when I'm at work I am always walking around (and always in a fasted state).

However (big one), the same(ish) macros worked for me year ago (edit: actually 2 years ago now) when I had no muscles and was about the same weight of flab. I actually ate about 300 calories a day MORE then because I was also doing 45 minutes of LISS in the morning.

Ah here's that thread I was thinking of. I guess my thread was too scientific for you :H

I see you stopped doing cardio. What's the reasoning for that? On the site I've spent the most time on, musclehack.com he recommends not doing any cardio the day after lifting, or maybe even 2 days after so your muscles have a chance to rest, I'm guessing it has to do with that?

And it would be nice to incorporate fasting in my life if it makes a difference. It's become painful to eat in the morning and even afternoon. I tried going to that leangains site but it was kinda confusing so I only went once or twice.

This deserves five stars if anything does. So I'm taking the oppty Lo0p to rate it so people can find it.

I know Loop I was just playing with you. I appreciate your pics; they're inspiring! I actually use a webcam to keep track! I'm working on losing 15 lbs. I have a webcam video of me 15 lbs. lighter and that's inspiration enough for me. So anyhoo, keep the pics and workout regime blogs coming!
