I have been getting my baclofen from 4rx since last aug. You dont need a prescrition and there has never been any problem with customs it just comes through the door. I think 4rx are one of the cheapeast but I have read that River pharmacy are even cheaper so check them both out. 4rx in my opinion give a good service and I have been on here a while and made friend so you can ask about I am a real person not just an pharma rep pedalling my own company lol good luck and hope it works for you like it did ofr me ! and I usually oreder about 200 plus talbets a time to cut down on the shippng !

This is my first post on here after reading the Observer article a couple of weeks ago about Dr Amiesen. The day I read the article I came onto this forum, and that same day I ordered Baclofen from Inhouse pharmacy, I paid 50-something pounds for 400 (plus paid 17ish later at delivery point). Since reading that article I've been floating around on cloud nine at the thought of a cure (and lurking on this site).

The Baclofen turned up this Friday, about a week and a half ( I think) after ordering - faster than I was expecting. I wasn't in when the postman tried to deliver it so I had a card thru the door saying I needed to collect the parcel from my local sorting office and I had to pay ?17.65 customs charge. I went and collected it this saturday. It was 4 small plastic bottles of pills - 100 pills per bottle, contained in a small cardboard box. The outside of the package said non-restricted pharmaceutical.

It was easy to order, it didn't ask for details, it didn't give a choice of delivery, uit was straightforward. I am going to try this lot and if it works I am going to try to get some from my GP, if I can't I will order more online.

Today I took the first bit of Baclofen - I only took half a pill (5mg). I will detail my situation and the results (or lack of them) on a different thread as I don't want to clog up this thread.

I read the same article, i wish you the best of luck, the stories on here are really inspiring, please do let us know your progress. I have an appointment is seven days with Dr who prescribes Bac so hope I to have some the next day.

Thanks for posting. I'm just back from the pub (it's 00.30 Uk time), six or seven pints worse for wear and have a tough day tomorrow. I want these days to end. I have gone through 32 years of this (and much, much worse) since i first picked up a drink. I won't ramble on any more but hope to follow your progress and then post mine.

For anyone using Pacifen. United Pharmacies (UK). Doesn't matter how much you order as they mark the value down low like under $5 or something like that to avoid customs. Works out about the same price as Inhouse but you can order more than one bottle at a time.

Welcome to MWO. best of luck with the baclofen, it's definetely worth reading up as much as you can on how best to titrate and what side effects etc that you may come across, hopefully very few!
I ordered bac from Inhouse and managed to avoid customs charges, possibly as I only bought 100 tabs. I am not on bac at the moment but taking Naltrexone, self prescribed, and if it fails to work with me then bac is my next treatment.
Best of luck if you ask your GP for bac, I saw my GP yesterday and he said strongly that in no way would they prescribe me baclofen, even if a Psychiatrist put me on it. This same GP wouldn't even give me campral a couple of years ago!! WTF. Hopefully you have a more understanding Doc.

Thanks, I'm being ultra careful so I've taken 5mg a day for 2 days now, I haven't noticed any effect at all yet. I might take 10mg tomorrow.

I went for the baclofen since I have muscle spasms anyway so I thought maybe kill 2 birds with one stone. No dr seems to know why I have the muscle spasms, but then again they don't know I'm an alcoholic.

I don't know if the muscle spasms are caused by alcohol, I have them really bad and sometimes my whole body shakes. If the baclofen works for the alcohol i will ask my gp for baclofen for the spasms and probably not mention the alcohol.

Why won't your doc give you Baclofen, did he give a reason?

InHouse were very reliable and good quality (I'm sure others are too) but if you order over ?18 you have to pay customs and a handling charge from Royal Mail. As postage is free from them, always order just 100x10mg at a time (?17 last I checked). You don't get the slight discount for a bulk order, but you save the ?17.65 extra charges, and the wait for delivery till you've paid, so it works out an awful lot cheaper and more convenient

Be downhearted no more SB, it's ridiculously easy to get a reliable, top-quality supply of Bac if you order from one of the reputable places. The only thing to get angry about is that most UK doctors won't have even heard of the stuff, much less be prepared to prescribe it...

Know how much 100x10mg tablets cost from a UK pharmacy on prescription? Less than ?2. From InHouse? ?17!! (I know it's cheaper elsewhere, but it's still an absolute bargain if Bac works for you).
