I just want to remind everyone that this is just theorizing and speculation on my part. I don't know if any/each baclofen preparation out there contains even or uneven amounts of baclofen enantiomers and whether not either is responsible for side effects and/or baclofen's anti-alcohol craving effects. It's just a thought. If you have a gas chromatograph lying around that would be the best way to determine the exact chemical composition of the baclofen that you are taking. I have a friend who's a research assistant at a hospital with access to one and he wouldn't help me out, and they're pretty expensive so you're on your own there. Maybe a call to the pharmaceutical company's customer service dept. would be helpful, but I gave up that idea a while ago (when I was getting Fexobac from GenPharma in India).

Thanks for all the answers!! I spent a great day. And yes it is wonderful to have a life again.

It took quite a while for my body to recover. The first big changes were noticeable right away. but there are a lot of other changes that I just came to notice now. Especially in the mind setting.

my doctor has put me on Topamax to reduce weight, so I will take another step to reduce my Baclofen dosis by 6.25mg to see how that goes. leaving me with 56.25mg / day Baclofen.

Have started with 25mg Topamax per day and adding 500mcg Vitamin B12 to avoid deficit through absorption problems usually occurring meanwhile taking Topamax.

starting off with topamax I noticed that it multiplied the effect of Baclofen. So I started tappering off Baclofen. I am totally off Baclofen now, and taking only 25mg/day Topamax.

Topamax appears to be very powerful on me - probably because I am used to the GABA feeling also Baclofen gave me.

Will see where this brings me. Previously to Topamax I had a hard time reducing Baclofen's dose - with taking Topamax it was easier going off Baclofen.

Topamax at the dose of 25mg has by now lost the stomach locking function ... I can eat normally again - but I feel a little bit more in control of food. Loosing weight mainly because I do not eat as much sweets - maybe the sweet tooth effect of Baclofen is waning?

I take Topamax as a replacement for Baclofen for now. I want to take it for 3-4 months and see if I can get off Topamax then. Maybe it is easier going off meds that way!

Craving, did you find topa or bac made your hair fall out?

Thanks for the posting, it's helpful. I've been thinking about using bac and topa long term prn or low dose daily depending on how I'm doing.

Baclofen does not cause hair loss.

I do not have enough experience with Topamax to judge on the hair loss yet. I take 500mcg Vitamin B12 as a preventive messure to the hair loss.
From my research the hair loss on Topamax is related to reduced absorbation of vitamin b from nutrition causing a deficit and hence hair loss ...
