gaba and the blood brain barrier?

does anyone know why bac crosses the blood brain barrier effectively but taking off the shelf gaba doesn't. i'm looking for alternative methods to increase gaba without taking bac. i know bac is a derivative of gaba and is a gaba b agonist. the research i've done on using auditory frequencies to induce alpha and theta waves in the brain suggests that this would increase gaba. has anyone any info. gratitude:thanks:

gaba and the blood brain barrier?

I take L-Glutamine and L-Theanine and both work on the GABA system, and pass the blood brain barrier.

Here is a comprehensive list of things that will effect GABA :

gamma-Aminobutyric acid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
since 23. Apr 2009 : TSM - failed to reduce units
since 08. Jan 2010 : Naltrexone + Baclofen combination therapy
reborn since 16. Jan 2010 : Alcohol Free (AF) - only taking Baclofen
    since 22. May 2010 : Baclofen against anxiety/fear
    since 14. Mar 2011 : off Baclofen - taking 25mg Topamax/day
