How long can you take Baclofen safely?

I know there are many of you that have done so much research! I've been on Baclofen for a year now. I have had some success but have started to fall back to my old ways. I'm considering titrating up again or trying a new method. How long can you safely stay on Baclofen? Would it depend on the dose? I know that Bac is considered a safe drug but I am worried about long time use side effects - if there are any.

How long can you take Baclofen safely?

I have a sibling who has been taking baclofen for back spasms for nearly 20 years (60mg right now, dosage has been higher in the past). I can't see that it's caused any long term effects, and it still remains effective (in stopping the spasms) as ever. I'm at 145mg/day, down from an interesting high dose experience that maybe I'll relate someday. No switch yet. I'll keep everybody posted. -tk

I don't mind at all! I think it goes back to we all plan our failures. It's no accident when we pick up the bottle. I got complacent because I was able to control my drinking so well. I started giving myself free passes here and there. Then the weather turned nice, the days longer, holidays, BBQ's...ect. I keep giving myself more free passes. Since I was drinking more frequently I decided to start tapering down as it seemed I was blowing my money. I kept saying I'll get it back together after Memorial Day, after this camping trip, after this party, after the 4th. Like I said, I planned my failure.

Anyway, I'm ready to taper back up (at 60mg currently) and just wanted to make sure that it is okay to take high doses long term. I see many taper down after they have hit their "switch" but I'm afraid I need to stay on the higher end to remain AF.
