I did a quick google, as I am sure you have - so I don't know any more than you do. But if you are seeking reassurance, it looks like just another brand name for exactly the same thing - baclofen.

        Cheers Ment,

You are right,I did exactly the same thing and found the same as you.
I saw someone say the other day(I think it was Ne) that we probably shouldn't get too caught up on what brand of bac we are taking anyway.
Honestly I had never thought about it until I read a few old posts on here that suggested that certain brands weren't as potent as others,I was just happy I was taking it.
I just thought that I would throw it out there as it has been a topic people are talking about lately.
I know that my life is dramatically better with bac in it than it was pre bac so I am getting the real thing.

I have a friend who is a doctor and when I was first prescribed bac I asked him what he thought. He told me that even if it was producing a placebo effect that made me feel like I didn't need to drink then that was a good thing.I understood where he was coming from and tend to agree,he knew nothing of baclofens ability to chemically alter the mind of an alcoholic(like most doctors).
My point being although I whole heartedly believe that what I am taking is the real thing and for me it has worked its magic, even if it was a placebo mind trick then that would be a good thing too.I suspect though that if it was I wouldn't have been able to see the benefits that I have.
My anxiety levels are much lower and I can deal with things quite well(or much better)than I have ever been able to before.I have PTSD and if bac wasn't doing what it does I would have had a major melt down by now which would have included a bender that only God knows where the end may have been.
I spent 5 years sober via AA in my mid 20's and when I did bust I didn't stop drinking again for 10 years.

Stevo - you touch on an issue that has been on my mind and maybe deserves a thread of its own - anxiety. Well actually the 'solution' that alcohol offers for many of us to the problem of anxiety and other personal difficulties. I know when I have quit in the past one of the reasons I started to drink again was the desire to be free of the level of anxiety which was my normal state. Alcohol, it seems to me, makes one far more anxious in its overall impact, but when we have a drink, in my case anyway, all anxiety melts away. Thar vicious circle - drink/wake up feeling awful, struggling with a knot of fear in one's stomach all day/drink and fall into peaceful oblivion come wine o'clock.

I have found myself wondering what happens to those sorts of issues/problems when one gets sober using baclofen.

            Ment,

I have seen people on here say that bac has done nothing for their anxiety at all and I have seen people say the opposite.I can only speak for me and say that for me it has been amazing.
I am a very anxious person and I can relate to the vicious circle that you mentioned before. If you remove the AL then that circle stops to an extent(I believe that AL is a provider of anxiety)but I guess it is all relative.
For me,I was severely traumatized as a child and the events of my life have compounded my PTSD,so take the AL away and I do feel better but my anxiety levels are still super high.
There have been studies done on people with PTSD using bac as an anxiolytic with good results, yet this does not mean that it is going to be good for everyone.
Dr.A. believed that half the battle with AUD was anxiety and if it could be reduced then part of the battle was already won. When I read his book this interested me greatly as some of his own symptoms were ones that I could relate to.

I see bac as a drug that not only has the ability to change brain chemistry for the better of people with addiction issues but also as something that helps with anxiety.
For me it is a bit like having a very effective anxiolytic with a knock on effect that keeps my drug and alcohol use in check.

My psychologist is amazed at the difference he has seen in me since I have been on bac,to the point of saying that we are wasting appointments that I am provided by a government program here in Australia. When he first met me I was a mess, which was about 5-6 years ago now.
This being said,I will add that I have had quite a few stressful things go on in my life lately which struck at the causes of my PTSD and the ongoing compounding features. In the words of my psychologist I was blind sided by a few core issues in quick succession, one of which I haven't had to be exposed to in 17 years.Believe me this has rocked me,and I have been feeling much like I did prior to bac.
I actually thought that the bac wasn't working with my anxiety anymore,it freaked me right out.
Apparently I have responded completely normally for someone like me to these issues and honestly I am beginning to start to feel a little more at ease again.
So even with bac I can still freak out,the difference I guess is that the freak outs are much shorter in length.
For example I used to get a phone call from a family member and I wouldn't sleep or be able to function properly for 3 or 4 days. Now with bac I don't lose sleep(or if I do it isn't very much) or let these interactions consume me.
I hope that all this makes sense,I don't want to go into too much detail about my traumas on a public forum.

This is about bac anyway not my shit and for me baclofen has been the most amazing thing for both my AUD and my anxiety.

I want to say again though that this is not everyone's opinion of bac as a treatment for anxiety, some people have worse anxiety as they get up to higher doses.
I am very lucky that I switched at a relatively low dose and never had to experience the SE's of higher doses.

I just reread your post Ment,

All the vicious circle things are available again after having a drink if that was what you choose with bac too,I guess.

I have felt all those things after drinking since becoming indifferent,it just doesn't happen much anymore.
