I hate to say it.. but...

Once you get sober and titrate back down, I imagine sex will be much better than before. I can't guarantee but sober sex has got to be a lot better than drunk sex.

Hey know...easy on me. Sex is VERY important but I continued upwards and am currently at 350mg a day for 2 days. I am now gonna start tapering down and hope for the best. Baclofen at 300 and above (for me...210 pounds, weight lifter, low body fat) is a miracle for craving. I haven't drank in 2 weeks. It crossed my mind because of stress I am going through and which is just going to get worse. But it just didn't seem worth the drive to the corner and I think about how I'll feel if I do drink...cause I am a bad drinker. I never had this stop in my thought process giving me no motivation to actually get the alcohol. I'm gonna start moving downward today...and I can't wait to see if my ability to climax comes back. Just hope the drinking don't. But yes again, sex is important. Me and my girlfriend have a wonderful relationship in that regard and it's not fair when she can climax 10 times in an hour and I'm just praying do it once. There have been times I had to give up. You lose your motivation after so long. And that's another thing...my motivation to do anything...not just drink has dropped significantly since high dose baclofen.

Well, Robo, I am 53 and having sex is a delight at my age, not a norm.

However, I do understand your worrying about it.

I just want to go on record here. My sex life hasn't been affected by baclofen at all. Currently I'm at 200 a day but I've been as high as 350 a day.

It's very true for me, which can be a blessing or a curse depending on the situation. In many ways I think it helps me not get stressed out over things that might make me drink. On the other hand I have been more able to procrastinate on projects that don't HAVE to get done immediately. I also work out, and I don't feel like I'm ever bringing my "A Game" or getting the fire to push myself in my workouts anymore. Today I even quit halfway through for no reason other than that I didn't feel like finishing. Not like me at all. But the need to finish also doesn't stress me out, if that makes sense.

I also don't think my libido has lessened in the 2 weeks I've been taking bac but my wife's sex life has suffered. I still masturbate but I realise I have serious intimacy issues and just can't be bothered to go through the motions at the moment. I need some time for me and fuck whatever anyone else is feeling now, this is definitely a lowering of the anxiety levels but has made me more loathsome than I am usually.

I'm gonna have to disagree again, not to be lame, just because it's true.

I'll have been on baclofen for one year next month and I'm an avid weightlifter. I've had 'em all: shitty workouts, so-so workouts, normal ones, good ones and 'blow my mind I can't believe I just did that' workouts. My drive to just 'get it done' through it all has impressed me.

I've always had problems with motivation and procrastination but since taking baclofen and not hardly drinking, my life in those areas is much improved.

I'm glad it makes sense to someone. I feel like a slug! I don't reallt enjoy it, but don't seem to care enough to do anything about it. Since September, I have been AF probably all week except one night on the weekend. I haven't had anything since Saturday. Yet, I find myself looking forward to the weekend, thinking.....can I have a few drinks?

For me it seems like the things I "had" to do before now have taken on a different level of priority. Maybe I was doing them for a previous personality and with this persona those things are not so important. Just rantings,I know.
I feel: if I'm really going to kick this thing I've got quite a job coming trying to find a new life.

Maybe it's just that your #1 priority is getting sober and nothing else matters at this point. If so, that's a pretty decent outlook.

You can do anythng you set your mind to! If you fall, don't dwell, just get up, dust yourself off, and learn from it!!

If you think of baclofen as being the calm without the high of alcohol you may understand some of these symptoms. I make a plan each morning to get things done. Works for me. If I yielded to sloth I would miss out on some of the best parts of my sobriety!
