Topa just doesn't cut it for anxiety?

Can someone please give me me some quick advise on switchiing from Topa to baclofen.
I will be seeing the Doc later this week( and even though the 75 mg of topa has been doing great for the cravings-AF27days, it hasn't done squat fot my anxiety levels!)

I know alot of people say that once you quit drinking you will become calmer, and for some people I'm sure that is true, but I've had anxiety since I was a kid.((I guess thats why I took a liking to drinking, the numbness)

So I guess my question is, does anybody take both, or will baclofen help with both symptoms?

ps-I've tried different types of benzos for anxiety, they just made me lazy & deppressed

nice to meet you faith, I am on topo 100mg and AF24 days for the first time in 10 years. Like you I have suffered with anxiety since childhood. I am no expert but in my reading about this medication, it says that optimimum effect is felt at around 4 weeks. Therefore if it was going to benefit anxiety levels it would be felt at its best at around 4 weeks. I have no urges for alcohol at all and this in itself is quite amazing. Good luck with it all and I am so happy for you that you are alcohol free.

Hi Faith - if the Topa is working for the AL - I wouldn't mess with it - could you ask your Doc for something else for the anxiety? Just my opinion but if you are AF on the Topa, I would hate to stop that.
