Lol, but I can't wonder if that is why Daisy lost a few of her petals? Do you have any 'special' kind of plants that she could have nibbled on? You know of the 'medicinal' variety? :H

    Just teasing luv.

Yikes! I am struggling today.......It is day 9 for me and I am feeling the pull big time. Finished with school today so I think I feel the need to reward myself. A few drinks and burgers on the grills sounds wonderful right now. But I know that is a bad idea cause I will go overboard and feel like crap in the morning. Plus I am still waiting on my confirmed interview date (thought it would be this week but the only day they had open was this morning and I had a huge exam) which could be tomorrow, 2 days from now, next week.....I want to look and feel as healthy as possible. AHHHHHHHHH Why am I feeling so weak today?!?!

Hi, sorry to hear you are struggling, Polka.

I'm going to ask you some questions to help me be able to better understand where you are coming from and be able to better give advice. If you already said, I apologise and only share what you feel comfortable sharing.

[*]How old are you?[*]Are you in a relationship?[*]Do you live on your own/family etc?Do you think the Topa is working so far? What country are you in?What time is it there?
If I should guess you are having the 'ahh' relaxation experience. I crave wine every Friday as I equate Fridays to allowing myself to let my hair down and I havent learnt yet how to do that without wine.

What helps for me is to first make sure I

-Eat something, if the craving is really bad, have chocolate to get your blood sugar up there and then have a balanced meal. Food often takes the edge right off the craving.
-Then if you are still bad you have to distract. As you are still new to being AF, I would suggest staying in but you can invite someone to come visit you as long as they are not the drinking kind or if they know your goals.
-What I normally do is take a nice long bubble bath with epsom salts. It may sound lame now but once you are in there your muscles will relax and you should start to feel better.
          -Drink lots of fluids.
-If you are still a bit shaky I would say watch a DVD. Something mindless or upbeat or anything you like really, you just need something to distract you for two hours.

Most cravings only last an hour or two and like I said mine is usually just a sense of I need a reward or to relax or that I'm hungry or thirsty and I havent been paying attention. Try the above and if that hasnt worked and no one else has showed up here and you need to talk more you can either PM me or if you need to share your story with a wider variety of people repost your post here, a spot on this site specifically for people who feel they need help:

Need Help ASAP! - My Way Out Forums

Don't let one hour of uneasiness spoil 9 days of hard work hon. You have a whole group of people here willing to help you if you just put your hand up and ask.

Hi Dizz! I do not mind sharing.....

            How old are you? 40
Are you in a relationship? Married
Do you live on your own/family etc? 3 1/2 yo princess
Do you think the Topa is working so far? Do not feel any reduction in cravings yet - Only at 25mg
What country are you in? US
What time is it there? 5pm (Ding-Dong...the witching hour!)

So this afternoon I have been trying to stay busy.....applying for jobs online, cleaning school crap to reclaim my office, etc. Yes I snagged some baby kit-kat chocolate bars from my DD Easter basket for a chocolate fix. No AL in the house so as long as I do not leave I am good. Hub and DD are home soon so I just have to hold out until then......

              Hi there

Yeah, thats my problem, the 5pm time after finishing exams etc. Is your husband supporting you? All I can say is eat some more food and drink lots of water or juice. Keep busy. You probably need to up your Topamax intake soon? I mean you are quite brave to be AF already, most people wait for it to kick in first but DO NOT let that be an excuse.

Like I said before, this is a big website with lots and lots of likeminded people so if you need to stay busy check out all the wonderful threads and before you know it hubby will be home and you will be thinking of other more pleasant things.

Hi Space, thank you for your observations on your habits changing, it gives me hope that I will eventually see myself with a cup of tea when I am at the computer rather than wine. When I had such good success with the Topa, I found myself actually craving the cup of tea instead of the wine. That thought originally got into my mind when I was listening to the Wendi hypnotherapy tapes, free from alcohol. The tapes worked a miracle when I did them the first time but after that I didn't have the same success. But I did experience that craving for the tea (from the wendi tapes) came back when I lost interest in wine due to Topa. So, thank you for helping me remember that, yes, habits can and will change when we give them enough attention and time.

                love, hugs, light and joy,

                  Hi Sun,
Well, we are in the same boat, getting up the stamina to make a plan and follow thru with it, amazing that it does take so much time to get in the right frame of mind to have the energy to actually do it.

                    Hi All

I'm really glad its May. I am solidly back on the wagon and hoping to have a talk with bf today. Not necessarily make up but I hate this nastiness that is still hanging in the air, even though it has started to subside.

Otherwise I'm fine, just a bit stressed as its still long weekend, my brother is still on holiday and with the fights and the weekend drinking I've falling WAY behind with my work. So I'm going to try and be a good girl and not hang out on this site the whole day either.

May the month of May be your happiest and most sober yet.

                    Lots of love,
                    DB

I found a very good Photobucket picture tutorial written by Stirly Girly:

                    https://www.mywayout.org/community/f7...wol-47530.html

"Most of us use Photobucket to post our pictures here. Rags has asked me to post this for any members who wish to use Photobucket and don't know how. Here are the instructions I've sent to a few members to get them started....

Rags made an excellent point about opening a new web page besides the one you're logged into MWO with and working with PB on that page.

It's as easy as pie to download pics from Photobucket. Just go to their site (.com) Along the top is a blue bar with a white space on the right side that says "search images". You can just write in what you're looking for - "congratulations", "have a great weekend", cute puppies, red cars, whatever. Click on the search button next to it and the first page of pictures will pop up. This is the easy way to post the pictures.

If there's something you want to post there, put your cursor on the picture and four bars will pop up below it. Click on the bottom one that is the IMG code and it will automatically copy the picture. Go to the message box here at MWO where you want to post the picture and simply right click on your mouse and then paste it. It's that simple.

There is another method using the image icon - that's the little yellow square at the top of the message box that shows a mountain. But you can do it my way and it's much easier. Then, to see how the photo will appear, click on the "preview message" bar at the bottom of the message box and it will show you how your message will look.

If the picture you want to post is too big you can edit it but you have to sign up - it's free, you don't have to pay to join in order to do the easy stuff. Then you can resize, crop, add text, whatever. There are lots of options there. Just read all the different boxes that come up.

And after you've signed up, you can upload pictures from your computer to your file there. Just make sure you secure any photos such as family ones that you wouldn't want others to have access to. They can be copied from your files to someone else's.

I would suggest that before uploading pictures from your computer to Photobucket, that you resize them to around 600 by 800. That's a good size, doesn't take long to upload and can be posted here at MWO.

To upload your pictures, just click on the green "upload now" bar and you're off and running. I usually go through my pictures first and note the dates so it's easier to find them if I want to upload several photos at a time - you have that option in the upload part.

Again, before you post the picture or pictures you want to, click on the preview post button at the bottom of the message window to see how your pics will look.

If I can be of any more help, just PM me."

New here and starting Topa and with a question

Good Morning everyone. May. Okay - a new month. Yes Play - your post, even without me reading back as yet, still resonates in my head. I do have to get up the stamina to make my plan and get myself going again. So much has gone on in my life and on this thread that my drinking has gone to hell in a handbasket this past week or two. NO excuse I know. but it has. I need to get my head in gear.

Polkadot - sorry you are struggling - it is hard when that awful sudden urge hits. Diz gave lots of good advice - I hope you managed to ride it out and feel better today.....

Space I so agree with you with the being on the computer and drinking. I have a dear friend with whom I often chat on the computer and when I am AF or not drinking as much we don't chat as much - and it caused a tiny bit of a problem - until I realised that when i don't drink, I don't spend as much time in front of the computer! I do stuff!! Oh and Space yes - we have Daisy who is a rescue - she is about 6-7 years old, is deaf due to neglect of constant ear infections, has thyroid trouble so is on tabs and is a few sandwiches short of a picnic but is a sweetheart. She takes no notice of Katie at all. Ben was a rescue as well - had been terribly abused and we had had him for 1 1/2 years. The dog we had before was Maggie - we had her from a pup and she died of bone cancer in November 2010, which is when we got daisy, as ben started regressing as maggie had pulled him up so much - taught him to play and how to be a dog!

WTE - Had to laugh at the thought of planting something to remind me of ben - and Maggie too - right now, Katie would probably dig them up!! I am glad that we got her though - she has definitely filled that hole and although some might say it is too soon, for me it isn't. I thought it would take for ever to find another Sheltie puppy but it was almost scary the way it all happened - the coincidence (coincidence??? I think not) of the only person I spoke to on the phone being the person that actually set up the rescue place where i got Ben - I had NO idea where I was calling and he isn't with them so I didn't know- and the fact that he knew someone 20 mins from me who had ONE female pup left who was ready to go - it just all fell into place...... Yes, pups are hard - but she is a smart pup and is doing well so far. She does think puppy pads are a toy sent from God for her to drag around the house though..... Your drinking is really going well - I am so impressed with the way you are doing it and the way it is all happening for you. you are being so disciplined about it and it is working for you. I think it is great that you are having under your 'allowed' amount! GO YOU! Gosh yes, you are going to be so busy coming up aren't you - but that will be a good thing for you. Did you get your tomato plants out? I wanted to get some seeds out today - I have the flowers out in front but no seeds yet and we have more storms slated for today.

Wildflowers - I love your posts - well, I love everyones posts (oops!! :H) but yours are different. How are you doing? Mimi - are you back from your trip? How are you doing? jan - where are you? how are you doing on the campral?? Hey there Houtx - how about you too? I agree - don't start until you are ready - I have made that mistake in the past too - and know now that i am thinking about it and need to start formulating my plan in my head.......

Diz - dear Diz - gosh well, how are things going now? You are talking with b'f - yes? Well, that is good..... how is the translating coming along? Are you making headway with it? You do SO much on this site, where on earth do you find the time for other stuff??? LOL Have you decided yet if you are going to go for another 30 days? Oh - DUH - Sun - read Diz's last post - sorry - just re-read it - questions answered!! thanks for clarifying!! Try and take a bit of rest and time for you my friend - potter in the garden maybe? Be still and enjoy the time outside. you do so much for everyone else - everyone here - you can't help everyone but you try to - do something for YOU today - please???

My tummy is making some horrendous noises - think I will go and get something to eat. Love and hugs to all,

                      Sun XX

Dizz, I am really glad it is May too! This marks the beginning of a whole new part of my life! I am finally done with school and can work on getting a job! It has been 2 1/2 years since I worked full time. I need the structure and, of course, we need the money.
I do feel better today. Going to start shoveling out my mess of a house. I am embarrassed to say that housework took a backseat to my classes and my hub was not much help in that department. It is a gorgeous warm sunny day so I am going to open all the windows and get to work!
