Hey Y'all -
I was gone over the weekend - a reunion gig w/ some musician friends of mine in San Antonio Friday night. Great fun - but it was loud and very distorted. I was disappointed, but it was fun. I had taken my daughter back to UT/Austin Friday morning also, so it was a hectic weekend. PLus school starts tomorrow, so I have been trying to plan not only for the first week but for the week after when I will be absent.

I've never missed school for so many days in a row...only stressing a teensy bit. My colleague assures me the world won't stop b/c I miss 4 days that includes Open House. Have never done this before after 22 yrs....feels good to put thumb to nose & go "nahnahnahnahnah" to it all!! LOL And I decided to let the $$ thing go. Credit cards work. Kids in college can deal. I'm not fishing with a 10" skillet anymore! LOL

I'm really excited to meet everyone...not to mention see San Diego and have fun! WTE told me she's arranged to have a friend's limo service pick me up at the airport & he'll probably have a sign w/ my name. I am going to have to take a picture of that!! LOL Will post it on FB and say ?? sent it for me. Love it!

In the meantime, I have not been on the blog in a couple of days so will check and see if anyone else has gotten the invite & gone there. Space, hope you're ok. Mimi, you too! Diz, good to hear your adventures & glad you're doing well.

WTE - you'll be behind in these posts when you get back, but don't stress! It will be ok. Ask your bigwig client if we can come to the party! LOL Soooooooooooo looking forward to meeting everyone. Is this just weirdly awesome, or what?! I'm not the best liar (am pretty good but...) so wanted to tell only those closest to me what I was doing. You all are a group of ladies I met via a post-divorce website years ago! LOL I admitted "it seems flakey" - but NO ONE has questioned it at all. So that's my story & I'm sticking with it...except to my new principal, who everyone says is a nutcase. The advice is to tell her a family emergency or something. Will do & not worried. 'nuff said.

and wishing others could be there as well, perhaps the number will swell every year until we have to rent a hugh tent to hold us all because WTE's house just won't do it anymore, wow what a concept, it could happen and then we will call it a "convention" or something.

So, Sun, thanks for clearing up all that confusion I have had around why you have a problem with drinking a few beers every night. I really do understand the part of that the minute that you walk into the house it is the first thing that you want (the same with me), it takes the edge off and puts that little relaxation feeling there, but it's always "the very first thing".

And I also understand that for you it also goes along with "smoking". Luckily for me I have never smoked except the the time when I left home at the tender age of 18 and I got on a Greyhound Bus with $50 in my pocket and a pack of "Virginia Slims" in my purse, and smoked one on that bus ride for the first time in my life and felt very "grown up". I think that I probably finished smoking that pack at some point but never smoked after that, so the drinking for me does not go along with smoking.

And I believe that quitting smoking is 500 million times more important than quitting drinking, of course drinking can also be killing you, so if you can't quit one without quitting the other then I guess I can for sure understand that you have to quit them both.

Houutx and Nora see you soon, Space, can't wait to see you in Barcelona, perhaps we will just stay there rather than returning home, of course your boys will have to join us, I'm always tempted to do something like that.

Play.... You googled me? :H I changed my name because of the small community I live in in Europe. Everyone knows everyone. I have mentions my little 'program" to a few people here who might have similar issues and thought perhaps its best to change my name.... keywords that I used would land someone on this site.

Good morning everyone - well, have been to the monday morning meeting then took my laptop to the computer shop 'cos i can't remember my password to save my life !! then went to the bank to sort out loan on new car. Then called about meds - was going to go to clinic but pharmacy have called them again and said that they are supposed to be calling them back - I will not be holding my breath - but fingers crossed!

Need to go to P.O. still but didn't have address with me - DUH! So have to go back out - will wait and do it when I hopefully pick up meds.

Play - you made me laugh when you Googled Wu - I had thought about it as her name meant nothing to me either. All shall be revealed !!!

Oh - the cupcakes and the cheesecake are a must - as is weeding. The rest might not happen. I took the cheesecake into work this morning and the manager gave it the hairy eyeball and said "GRAPE cheesecake????" and then pronounced it very good !!!

Houtx - it will do you good to take time off - I laughed when I saw that you had said we were from a divorced group - WTE is saying we are from a gardeners group - my work is assuming you are all from a Breast cancer group so we are all breast cancer divorced gardeners!!! ROTFL !!!

The blog isn't working 'cos WTE can't work out how to invite people - LOL. Maybe we can get it going in san Diego!! And share pics afterwards.

Nora - go you for being on time for weeks - for everyone else - Nora and i have had a standing joke about her always being late for work to the point where I now say I can't 'do a Nora" - that is - can't be late !!!!

Hi there play - yes, I wish I didn't smoke - but my dad did and remember liking that smell on him when he used to kiss me goodnight - I remember it as far back as three years old !!!! Maybe it is a comfort thing....... I too smoke Virginia Slims Menthol Lights!!

Well, I finally got ONE of my meds! The antibiotics. Too long and boring as to why I don't have the other one too - the ABX nauseate me even when I take them with food. AND you are supposed to take them on an empty tummy but the doc told me to take them with food 'cos he said they would make me feel ill otherwise. SO am chomping on some veggie sausages right now before i go to bed so I can take another before bed. Just what I feel like eating.......NOT !! I usually have Tuesday off but am doing a clopen now and having wednesday off - doing a favour to someone.

This site is quiet at the monent - I went back to see who I needed to reply to and realised that I only needed to reply to Space..... and ME !!!!!

So I guess I will get ready for bed and see everyone tomorrow......

I don't think I have ever said a Welcome to You, but I see you here a little more because of our wonderful "Sun", we love her too, but wish you would post here more often, and I would like to just say that your "big moose baby boy" at 17 may seem all grown up to you, but I can assure you from first hand experience that he is very far from "all grown up", and he may seem to go quite a distance from you in his being all grown up for a few years, until he comes back around to being your little boy again when it seems like he is about to be old enough to be a man, anyway, just my own experience with my son, yours may be quite different, but I bet it will be wonderful.

Kradle checking in better late than never!

Just wanted to report that the powdered L-Glut is magic for me. I take a heaping teaspoon in a glass of water each morning and then .25 or sometimes .50 mgs of Topa right before bed and I am stable. All cravings are pretty much all in my lonely head.

Tough couple of weeks....so this has worked well.
