Hi Nora - yes thanks my arm is lots better - the swelling is gone and although it still hurts a bit and itches it is way way better !! It was such a pain and I felt bad for being such a hassle for WTE. I hope that YOU are feeling better now - you have been going through it too haven't you? let me know how you are.

Hopefully next time I am that neck of the woods, we can meet up. I did have a wonderful time though and WTE is a smashing person - just the same as in her posts - energy and personality !! Charlie is SO sweet!! I wanted to bring him home with me but I didn't ask WTE 'cos I knew she would say no, and I think she would have noticed me taking him.......

Anyway, I had planned on ironing tonight but got a wicked nosebleed for some reason or other that wouldn't quit. Hubs said it was the change in weather - whatever - there was no way I could iron! So, I think I am going to have a milky decaf coffee and get to bed early.

Somehow I feel you are the kind of person just super easy to get along w!

Since I got on the MWO site 2 weeks ago, I went through many emotions. First, excited, then happy, then complacent, then cautious, then angry, then paranoid, then sad, the disappointed, eventually fed up and just decided to leave! Now I'm thinking, maybe there are normal people here after all!

I am on l glut pills and kudzu. To be honest, right now they are helping more than topa. And topa max is not even suppressing my weight! I'll have to be patient, of course,

Now where do you get the glut powder? I heard people talking about it to get it at health stores, but I'm no healthy person to begin w, can't name a health store if you put a gun to my head. So can you give me a national name health store name to help me out? Thanks you!

Sorry Al - it is me again....... Ummm, I get my L-Glut at a place where body builders buy their stuff. Not sure if you can get L-Glut powder at a health store. GNC or somewhere like that? The powder is way better than capsules. A tsp in an inch of water three-four times a day. I buy a container of 18 oz (525 grams) for about $24.00 or you can get a larger one, that costs more but is cheaper relatively!

Oh - and as for the people here being normal - LOL Not sure about normal - my daughter calls me special. :H:H

Hopefully WTE will be along to chat sometime but I know she is busy this afternoon so hopefully she will pop in this evening.......

Now are l glut and kudzu good for liver? You know how kava kava used for anxiety and recently found to be bad for liver. My concern is because herbs / amino acids are not as well studied as prescription mess for liver/kidney problems, are we going to find out problems from these supplements later? I'm already paranoid about my liver, now I just don't know where to look up info about these things on liver functions.....

AL - Web MD is a good place to research things. Sun actually found som einfo for me this morning!

I buy my L-Glut powder from Amazon.com.

And yes - I am pretty easy going - try to see all persspectives of things. But I think you will find all of us here to be about the same in that regards. It really is a lovely group to hang with! =)

The username reminds me of the movie, is that where you got the idea from? And then it reminds me of the song by Whitney Houston, my favourite singer of all times singing for theme sing of the movie, how those girls were drinking wine, how Whitney died in bathtub w alcohol and drugs in her system...

Anyways.... I hope you guys don't mind me being on here a lot for a while.... It's my way of coping and preventing myself from drinking. I hope that as I get more sober days in, that ill rely less on this site and actually get on a little with my life and not be obsessively posting and checking..... Cause, I used to have a life, that didn't involve being on line AT ALL!!! But there was a lot of alcohol too...

Sunshine: so I guess you are not British and you and WTE are similar in age.

I found out l glut won't harm liver but you shouldn't take it if you have liver problem because you would have trouble getting rid of it in the body. Haven't found much on kudzu yet. Will let you know if I find out more. Topa max as far as I know is safe on liver?

Yes, to answer your question – my name here in really dark days came from that book. It’s how I felt and as if “something” was about to happen to let me get breath again. You are correct.

Some of us are here more than others and that changes as our lives are changing. This is a GREAT support and even when I was AF (or doing better at it) … I came to talk to my buds here. Other times we seem to take breaks. Such is life and how it rolls …

And Sun IS a BRIT! LOL Just transplanted. She is just darling and we just spent 3 days together – her flying from IL to CA. And yes – since she has outed us! HA! We are both 58 (and looking great!) LOL

From what I know – Topa is not an issue with the liver. I had FANTASTIC success with it and L-Glut and taking All-One daily. But as I said, I had to stop. Please don’t “expect” weight loss from it – I am an anomaly in a very small percentage. I have yet to read more than a few posts from anyone having such issues. I’m just weird. It seems the people that want to lose a few pounds don’t on Topa – and those who don’t want to lose do.

NORA: SO sorry we did not get together!!! Hope you are doing better and we MUST see each other on Sun’s next trip or before!

OK – On to bed after a fun and relaxing day with KITTENS! HA! Gosh they are just cracking me up!

I just started thinking about what to write and then got all worried that my writing isnt very good so I must stop the thinking and just write, NOTE TO SELF, "NO MORE THINKING".

The kittens look super cute and I am so amazed that Charlie gets on with them he must really be some suped dog.

Hi Al I will tell you a bit about me if you want to know, I am in England, I am a 50 year old single womand and have 3 kids, one married daughter and two sons who still live at home. I have probably been the heaviest drinker of the group in the past and ended up in the woods drinking vodka and cider, I have been in rehabs and detoxs and before topa I was taking baclofen for quite a while but couldnt take to side effects at hight doses so switched to topa. I have been on topa for around 6 weeks and am doing well on it and am loving being in this group although I had joined before I started topa I was already in the group anyway. I wonder how that happened tho

Are you in US AL I dont think you said, you dont have to say if you dont want to. I also buy L glut powder from Amazon and as Sun said Milk Thistle is good for your Liver so get some of that, it will help heal your liver and hopefully then you wont have to worry so much. I cant get AllOne in UK so I take other supps instead, but I have heard the AllOne is the best, its just the p&P is too much.

I have been AF in the past for periods of time but found that I didnt keep it up and it ended up in my going on big benders, so now I drink around 1 - 2 cans a night, I dont like doing that and would prefer it not to be every day but am happier doing that than the other alternatives I have found in the past ie. heavy drinking or AF then and big bender that could kill me, so right now I think I am kind of fine funing myself.

WTE--WTF :H:H Your get-together sounds really lovely. My dog would be sorely put out if I brought any other four-legged-fur in here. Glad yours isn't sulking! Fostering is a labor of...chores, in my book. I don't miss it one bit, but I loved doing it too.

Al--This place was a huge part of helping me in early recovery. Plus, I made friends from all over the world. Hope it helps you in the same way.

Space - your writing is just fine - I love reading your posts. I still think you are doing really well with your drinking how it is now and is so improved as to how it was - you have to agree - right? So, baby steps !! Laughed at what Ne wrote about thinking getting her in trouble !! I agree - so just come on here and let your fingers do the talking. Do they still have that ad in UK letting your fingers do the walking?

Hi there Al - how did yesterday go for you? Please post as much as you want/need to - I am back at work today and work the closing shift and the thread does quieten down a lot too - but someone will eventually be along...... it does help to post I know. I don't think Topa is bad on the liver, same with Kudzu, but Milk Thistle is really good for it.

I'm at 50 but I want to go to 75 today. My doc oks it. She's pretty cool and we are very close. (One day I'll tell u more about her). So wish me luck!
