As for the brain transplant - and if we are getting two for one - maybe we can get three for two and add me in there too...... LOL. So, after you have had your liver transplant, then your brain transplant and Space has had her brain transplant, and I have had MY brain transplant, I am trying to think what else I need - after all, maybe we could get a job lot??? Cannot think of anything off hand - give me a minute. I need a new little finger right hand.

I remember my Gran having Vit B12 shots periodically - for some reason the shots work better than anything else. It surprises me that I am fine, being veggie..... but my Gran also drank a lot - wonder if that has anything to do with the way Vit B12 is absorbed?

Back to going through paperwork.......

Thanks for that, next time I see my gp I will try to remember to ask about testing for any vitamin defficiency.

Teezah can remember when I would stop drinking in the past and how amazed I was at how well I felt. It hasnt happened this time tho I have felt like crap since I stopped drinking, but weirdly I think that is one of the things that has kept me going, somedays I feel so bad there is no way I want to risk feeling even worse by drinking on top of it.

I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome because I had a Cytamegalovirus years ago. Its closely related to Fibromyalgia with the tiredness but not the pain. I was put on a healthy diet and had vitamin B complex shots and iron supplements as well as extra magnesium all of which helped, Space. Definitely test for vit B and Iron at least, I take those 3 when run down as well as Omega 3.

I couldn't afford to test for everything this time but laying off the booze, a low GL diet and some supps seems to be working. Oh and as you're in the UK, they say 90 percent of people there are deficient in vit D because of lack of sunshine. This could also be why I'm feeling up after being down for so long, I'm investing in a SAD lamp when I get back. Any good doc will gree to test for vit levels as you're seriously struggling with energy. Also hang in there with the crappy weather, on the days I force myself to go for walks I do feel better.

Thanks Dizzy, you are right about the lack of sunshine here and the crappy weather, a lack of vitamin D is totally possible. I am glad you are feeling better.

I saw a documentary about wildlife in South Africa yesterday and the little penguins where on it. I was thinking of you when I saw them.

Dear Space,

Zip cars are a type of car share/rental that we have here in the U.S., but mostly just in the urban areas. So It costs $50 a year for a membership to Zip car, they are kept in public parking lots, petrol stations, parking garages, in fact there is usually a spot a block or two from where anyone lives here, so they are super convenient. When you want to rent one, you go online and reserve the car you want at whatever location that is available, for however you want it. In general they cost about $11 per hour, gas is included in the price and you do not have to buy insurance.

So if you are a person like me, I don't own a car and rely on buses and metro, well sometimes when you want to do the food shopping, and a few other errands at the same time, well you rent a zip car. It is super convenient, you make the reservation online, take your zip card (key) to the car and jump in. O course it is not the thing you would rent for a week but for a few hours, a day, overnight, they are perfect and they have special rates for the day or overnight. I really love them, you can rent a van or a pickup or a convertible, they are all brand new cars and fun to drive.

Hey everyone, I haven't talked to you in like forever, it seems. Sorry. Hope you're all well, as I haven't really read back at all--except to see that Ally lives pretty close to LA. Should I be expecting you as well when everyone visits, dear?

Anyway, just wanted to pop in quickly and let everyone know that I'm all right. Or mostly all right. You know how those things go. Drink for a week, think maybe that's not a great idea, then not drink for a bit, etc. Sheesh, no wonder everyone says long term, day by day abstinence is the way to go. :upset: But seriously, or at least more seriously, I'm hanging in there and haven't waded into the deep end yet... or however that expression is supposed to go. I'm just doing a whole lot of reading lately, and so not really on the computer as much. And then when I am on the computer it's just for online porn... er, wait, I mean work. Yeah, that's it, work, like writing and stuff. But my actual online job starts up later this week, so maybe I'll be on MWO more on breaks or something.

Zip cars sound a great idea, here you just have normal car hire for a day or more which is expensive.

I have had a bad night, I have been tossing and turning and lying there waiting to go back to sleep, I dont know what caused this as I normally sleep well, and I have gone and promised to drive my son to school so its not even like I can just go back to bed when he has left like I usually do. So I dont know what I am doing with my day, my daughter is calling around later to collect her dog that I have been minding over the weekend so she will want to do some running around and then I will take her home. So not much of interest happening for me today.

I think I've been complaining a lot more about lack of energy since I increased my topamax to 100 mg. although I also lost more weight but I need to taper off of it. It's not healthy to feel this tired....

Hi everyone - Ally, it could be the Topa - try cutting down to 75 for a while - OR if you find that you can control the drinking with the L-Glut, cut the Topa back even further. Did you have energy before you started Topa?

Hi Space - sorry about your bad night - I had one too and am wondering if it was 'cos I hadn't had anything to drink since a lot earlier in the day. So I would have had no AL in my system (I don't think) when I went to bed. I had night sweats too. Awful !!

Diz and ally - whenever I have my cancer checkup they always test for Vit D and I am always around 22 - way too low, I am supposed to take a 10,000 tab once a week but constantly forget it. I do not feel any different when I do take it. the only thing that seems to make a difference to me is the all-One drink. Which thanks to Play, I am beginning to have regularly - we text each other that we have had it !! Makes us BOTH more motivated.

Anyway on that note, off to do my mucky drink - LOL. Working closing shift today....
