    My Baclofen Journey

    Ficks,

If the SEs don't affect you very badly, you can titrate up at a faster rate. I did that, since I only started suffering from daytime somnolence and nighttime insomnia when I got to around 180mg.

The effect on anxiety and general stress levels is pretty amazing, isn't it? Mrs. T actually picked up on it 1st, before she even knew I was taking baclofen.

If anxiety is one of your triggers then I should think Bac will help you with lower doses than most people need. Just my 2 cents.

        My Baclofen Journey

        Thanks guys,

I was onto my very first dose of 20mg last night and am down to 3 units. I think I will probably have success on a fairly low dose. Like someone suggested on another thread, I am taking the higher dose before I leave work - arsenic hour and associated stresses is my biggest trigger.

I'm happy to be onto taking whole tablets now Mr Tipps - chopping them up is annoying as they crumble. Today onto 20 x 3 per day. And I bet I can't be bothered to drink at all tonight

          My Baclofen Journey

          Hi fickle,

Thanks for posting your bac journey. I thought about posting mine, but just hadn't. I am on week three. I am taking 30mg 4 times a day. The first two weeks were ok, but this week the drowsiness is killing me. I am drinking less, and I'm sleeping really well which is nice. I have also had a few brain dead moments at work.

LOL me too Mr Tippy :H

Hey Almost There, you are welcome to post about your journey here on this thread. I'm not 2 weeks yet and i didn't start this post til nearly the end of my first week.

Am onto 20mg x 3 per day. Did not stop me quite yet.. 4.5 units today.. I guess it's my daily ritual so will take a wee while to subside.

                My Baclofen Journey

                Fickle,

I have had the sleep paralysis thing at different levels. It ALWAYS occurs when I add too much too quickly to one of my doses.

                I don't do that anymore.

                  My Baclofen Journey

                  Thanks Cinders,

I've noticed I felt a bit dreamy today at work.. It's easy to lose track of time. Multi-tasking was always my strong point but at the moment I'm struggling a bit to remember which thing I'm doing in what order. I'm getting forgetful and am worried it's effecting my performance. Am up to 20mg-am, 20mg-noon and 30mg this evening. Might stick with that tomorrow and go up a wee bit on the weekend but try not to go up too much faster for the time being as I'm happy with the results so far: I've cut down on AL substantially without getting tooooooo dopey at work (I think).

Might be careful now about how much further I go up since I don't want to become a complete space cadet - am under a bit of pressure at work and the last thing I want to appear is unconcerned about my deadlines or worse, stupid.

Question is, as bac is known for NOT becoming less effective over time for AL, does the dreaminess wear off as you get used to the bac or is that a permanent part of the experience?

I imagine if I was retired it would be fine as I could do things at my own pace and enjoy the restive attitude. However being a working gal known for my focus, attention to detail, ability to multitask and achieve deadlines under tight timeframes etc.. am I going to be able to keep this up? Gosh it's my job to keep other people organised!!

On a positive note I will confess that when I do get a chance to lie back and give into the bac, I feel quite euphoric and appreciate prettymuch everything about life :H

Wonderful having you guys along for the journey!
                  :thanks:

                    My Baclofen Journey

Oh sheesh, I admit I am a total eeeeejit.

Have just counted my bac and realised I may have to titrate down again until more supplies arrive. Ordered some online last night but not sure when they will arrive.

When I started this thing it seems like I had a huge amount but now, after titrating up, i realised I don't. So, a warning to everyone.. this is part of it.. making sure you have plenty of supplies before setting out on this journey! I should have written out a plan and counted them out before hand.

A small setback but now I've begun, I know I'll get there... just be better prepared next time.

The reinforcements arrived today like a rocket from Shas.. I am such a privileged being to have such angels watching over me!

Must admit to backsliding somewhat in the last few days as had cut down on bac. I will be back in the saddle tomorrow.
