    My Baclofen Journey

    Going Strong;962748 wrote: Hi Ficks,

I have not been on for a while and wanted to check to see how you are going.

Mr G is right the best results of bac come from being AF. Bac just adds some armoury to cope with the cravings.

Saph what you have written is really interesting stuff.

I go to a doc that is exactly like that and treats his patients with a combo of vitamins and food.

How much B3 do you take and when?

I find gaba really good for me but still not sleeping really good so would like a plan for that.

Fickle you and me go way back and we are going to beat this................. I just know it.

    Take Care Shas xxx
    Hi there Shas,

MY son takes 500mg 6x daily, combined with 6,000mg vitamin c and a host of others. I take 500mg morning and evening one hour before bed. It is a godsend for anxiety and helps with sleeping without sedating you or giving you any sort of hangover. Have you had a look at aminos? Tryptophan and Tyrosine go great with L-Glatamine. In combination, tryp and tyro arent enough, they need to be taken singularly to get a therapeutic dose. If you interested Shas, I could give you a comphrehensive list of all the supplements that I take...they have definitly rewired my brain.

        Hi Sapph, Shas,

Great stuff and thank you Sapph! Please do post or pm me a list of the supps that you take. I am certain you are right about what you have discovered and it could probably help me a lot. You are also right about the me time. I don't have any at the moment... am working on creating some. Have downloaded a heap of music today that I can walk to with my ipod. Am going to try to break out of work each day for an hour. I know I'm supposed to take a lunch break but I rarely do. It's time to get out there into the Spring air and fix me! Exercise was always my friend in the past. I have to reclaim my right to walk :thanks:

Yes I am certain we will beat this Shas and thank you so much for coming to the rescue:l I reckon we need to bombard ourselves with everything we can to make the break for freedom. I sure as hell could do with a bit of rewiring of the brain :H

Am very sleepy and off to bed. Am having this wierd thing with my ears at the moment. Take care everyone and thanks for being here!

        Hugs,

            Hi Fickle,
Good to hear you are seeing results. May it continue.
I too am having weird things in my ears - it is like a crackle that comes in waves. It is not super-bad, it is more just odd.
            Full English

                Hi Sunny,

Mr G is Guitarista, a buddy from another thread whom many here know. He has been AF for ages and is really supportive.

Thanks so much Sapph, that regime of vitamins is something I will look at doing again as soon as i can afford to make the investment. I did invest heavily in vitamins in the past and experienced great changes.

Hello Full English, I have really extreme rushing noises in my ears that freak me out, especially when I'm trying to sleep!

Well not much for me to say really except that I've had another very long day and I feel just really ill. I don't like this very much. Will see what tomorrow brings but I can't afford to be so stupid at work. I need to fire on all cylanders and well I'm just not.

Nighters all and thanks again.. sorry to be so boring.. need to eat then sleep.

I've dropped back to 130mg per day as the higher dose was really rough.

                    Feeling much better today....

                    Now where is Reggie?

                      My Baclofen Journey

Thanks for the post Reggie! Have now cleaned out my pm box

Have had a crazy week at work.. needed my brain badly so had to titrate back down to 120mg. Nothing like being confronted with a heap of corporate stress and 'in ya face' meetings to make you feel self concious. Will take things slowly with bac from now on. Still glad of the bac as it is keeping me modding which is grand.

Now that I no longer have to worry about the blowout aspect of AL I'm looking forward to a day or two off and lots of walking. Also, have put in an order for lots of vitamins as Sappy orders... brilliant plan. I am also starting to exercise more and i figure this is the key - walking dogs every morning an evning like i used to

Hope you have a lovely holiday Reg!
Pleas pm me with the details of the aussie hypno tape

                        My Baclofen Journey

                        Hi everyone...

I too find that the bac works bettter when AF. I fnd once you start to drink, it's like you aren't taking bac, but while you aren't drinking, you don't think about it. I am now on 70mgs a day, and don't notice not drinking. I may have a fleeting thought but it goes as soon as it comes. So far for Sept I have been AF for 11 of 17 days and of those 17 days, 3 I wasn't drunk, just had a couple. So I am definately doing better.

                          My Baclofen Journey

Hey that is great Cristyacc! Such a terrific result on a low dosage.

Hope everyone is going well... particularly Reggie who I know was going great also and continuing to rack up that AF time I hope

I've stablised at 120mg as it's all my poor brain can deal with. More than that makes me stupid at work. I'm on 20mg at 6am, 20mg at 9am, 20mg at 12pm, 30mg at 30pm, 30mg at 6pm. That gets me past the witching hour and comfortably into bed around 9pm.

I've managed to get some AF time under my belt.. am on day 6 today. Needed a few days off to kick start my AF time as I get really tired and despondent at first. As many will know, AL can be used to block out harsh realities.. so am struggling not to run back to AL because if I think about a lot of things I lose my momentum. It was a way of keeping going despite everything. Good thing is that bac's anti anxiety action is stopping me from panic and instead I'm just feeling sad about it all.

Am waiting for vitamins to arrive to begin Sapphy's vitamin regime as I know I will feel better if I can get into that and into more long walks. Don't know how you manage all that exercise Reg! It's really hard for me to get motivated about anything.. although once I get going I'm ok. I also have a bit of weight to lose before I'm able to grab hold of exercise as my mood fixer - the long stompy bushwalks and me are old friends in that regard so hoping I can regain the habit. Only have a few days hols left so need to pick up my game since I'll have a lot less time when back at work.

Plan is to get past 21 days then titrate down to 110-100mg and go for 30 days. After that I might dare to drop it a little more and gradually ease up on the bac to regain my energy. Just must be very careful to not do anything sudden and watch my relapse muscle :H Can't afford to let panic return caus I know where that leads.

                          Go well everyone!

Have you seen this post Baclofen Doctors where apparently the latest advice to come from Dr Levin is not to titrate down?
Started Baclofen 3/9/10 Hit my switch at 250mg on 21/11/10 3.125mg/Kg

                              Hi Igno,
nope, have not seen it.. can you post a link?

Going here well still, sitting tight on 120mg and it's working fine so too nervous to try going down at all. Would be very interested to know what's the theory Igno.

Oh yeah, am on Sapphys vitamin regime and it's doing wonders. Am feeling much better, still AF and just coasting along really.

                              Take care everyone
