It has been some time I dropped a line here but I did think that my experiences on the BAC trial can still be valuable for some of the members here. After having put out a very disturbing contribution a few weeks ago, which was a product of BAC + booze= megalomania and self righteousness (in my case)
Some of you guys know my story other don?t so I recap. Alcoholic and binge drinker for 25 years, came across BAC in April 2010 used it for 5 months with no other success than drinking even more until 2 weeks ago on a dose of 300/day I have stopped drinking. Why I think this is the case I want to share with you.
1. BAC is very good BUT you need more that that
BAC has proofed to stop cravings and it does with that provides the neutralization of the most important relapse factor. BUT remember the triggers will remain whatever they are for you, life is full of them, your partner goes on a business trip, you are alone, bored and down, you go to a party, you feel insecure, can?t talk with anybody without a drink, you are happy and celebrate something, the list is endless and these situations will come and you need to be prepared, Bac alone can?t do that for you, you will have to re-define your life, and that what I am on the way to do. For those of you who are willing and able to seek counseling this is of great help, BAC is now also know in the counselors community and you can either do it face to face or online.
2. The SWITCH
The so called switch is something I have never experienced and if at all I have hit a mental switch which has finally allowed me to stop drinking. The switch I think or more the search for it can be outright dangerous as most of us do the BAC thing without a Medic and the permanent upping of the dose of a drug not really well known for its use contra alcoholism might be counterproductive. You will feel, as did, the results of BAC from day one even on low doses but I am now convinced of the fact that it is a MUST to start BAC already with the total commitment not to drink. If you decide to drink you will most probably have to go to insanely high doses which are neither necessary nor healthy. So I would say begin sober and the chances to stay sober are bigger.
3. Dogma and Critics
In my humble opinion one has to take care not to become too dogmatic about BAC and to portray it as the silver bullet which is certainly not is. I have read in some forums in France and Germany that critics of BAC saying what I say that BAC is working BUT it needs more that that are badmouthed and witch-hunted which I think is not productive. Dogmas are terrible; they don?t allow criticism and therefore will prevent the development of important facts and know -how about BAC and its magic.
Thanks and good luck
Rudolf
