Need advice on Bac
Hey guys, I've currently been on BAC for about 4 months and am at 300mg. Yesterday I decided to cut my loses and take myself off it. Then I read some more testimonials and decided to give it 1 last try. My SE have been horrendous but my drinking has thus far stayed the same. I've looked at attacking the problem from different angles using Topamax or an antidepressant to alleviate the underlying problem. I'm thinking as I only binge drink that this might have something to do with it. I'm 90kg or 198 lbs and take the Bac religiously and I'm thinking surely I should see some results. The online pharmacy I go through is Aclepsa ( India) and the brand of Bac is Fexobac 25mg tabs. I've put off having surgery as someone said its more important to do this 1st. Sorry if my posts are all over the place but the Bac reacts with me quite violently when I drink. Long term Bac users advice would be much appreciated.:thanks:Tags: None

Fuel,
I have a very very firm recommendation for you: try starting now to go AF.
I went all the way up to 380mg/d while continuing to drink - hammered by SE's every day. As I was about to punt, I decided to try AF. It was easy - trivially easy. I just needed to break the psychological habit drinking daily.
Even if you don't go comletely AF right away, the SE's will diminish greatly once you reduce intake.
Please try this before giving up.
Good Luck,

Need advice on Bac
I am 148 pounds and I had to go all the way up to 245mg (3.6 kg/mg) before the cravings went away. I drank all the way up to the switch and I think I could have gotten there sooner had I slowed down my AL intake. Best of luck.Go before that fire there, at the altar of your heart

Need advice on Bac
Hi Fuel,
Have been on Baclofen for two weeks. The first week, I drank and got messed-up(guess I was just too use to the routine)...so, Sunday it was easy not to drink...then decided that I would actually try not drinking and take bac. as recommended by my GP. It has been 5 days not and I am AF with not much trouble. I did, however, increase to 20 mg at night (stayed with 10 mg in morning and at lunch) which seems to be working well for me.
I suggest giving it a try AF--break the routine....
Good luck,
Wonka

Need advice on Bac
I agree with all the previous posters - a day or two alc free and suddenly Baclofen seems to work.
I started Bac about 2 weeks ago. I unintentionally "overdosed" when I went from 10 to 20 mg 3 times a day and felt so lousy I had almost no option other than to stop drinking for a day or two. After that, and with the negative side effects of baclofen waning, a couple of days more with no booze was all of a sudden totally effortless. Now on a modest 3x25mg per day and have had a total of 4 beers in the last week, which is something of a record for me. No hangovers -- "What a feeling" as that chick in Flashdance would say.

Need advice on Bac
I agree with the above mentioned posts. I have tried Bac twice--this being my second time. The first time I went off because my side effects were crazy!! I was always dizzy. I decided to give it another try and this time titrate up slower. So far it's been good. I find that if I am not drinking, I don't really think much about it. I find that I am more of a social drinker now......not drinking every single day, and go out for lunch or dinner with friends, and order a diet coke.......AF July 6 2014
