    Inde,
Is Dr. Levin's titration schedule posted anywhere on MWO? If not are you willing to post it here
    Sunny
Hi Sunny; I'm sorta fuzzy on my ramp up. I haven't decided yet; and my social and work calendar is rather free at the moment, damn you recession. I'll see how the SE's are....

As mentioned eloquently, my AL rate is not at the emergency brake level. Thankfully.

      Inde, got the meds yet?
I'm not at the point where someone needs to set my emergency brakes either. But I ditto your shout out and hope they're well.

Great analogy. kick ass analogy actually. Nope, no bac yet. Got spotted checking my mailbox twice by my neighbor tho. lol.

I re-started bac a week ago with much less drama than the last time I took them. (I was a train wreck.) I'm following Dr. Levin's latest titration schedule and all seems to be going well.
      woo hoo!

I also have a loved one in medicine who was less than enthusiastic, but she spent last weekend looking up research on bac, in journals she 'respects.' And then gave me the full on go ahead! A huge relief which has led to unbridled optimism.
It would be great to hear if there are others just starting and going slow.
Honestly, medical professionals are the worst skeptics on the planet, non? If $10M dollars haven't been spent, 20 research articles written? Oie.

      Thanks for your support

Yea, Inde! Don't let the tiny-ness of the pills fool you. They are much more potent than they appear.

            Please do keep us updated.

                Waiting is the hardest part…

9 Days, must be nice, compared to my three weeks… I just reordered; three days in, to ensure supply. This time for two months.

I am pleasantly surprised at the traction that bac is getting; I drank half the amount I would normally yesterday, and I can't believe how calm I am. Honestly, It's amazing. Sleep is astounding also. At 40mg per day(10mg every 5 hours) , and will increase shortly to 50mg/day.

I'm punching though the sleepiness in the afternoon. It's not really an issue.

I'm thinking that this thread will be my log, btw.

Good for you indie72! I took 10mg 4 hours ago and I am sleeeeeepy so I am going to take it slow. I am not going to quit drinking yet but I am scared that I will get a massive hangover even when I drink less while taking the bac. I guess it is all one big experiment!

edit: I never get tired in the afternoon and I take meds to sleep at night so this will be interesting!

                    Waiting is the hardest part…

One big @$$ experiment. I'm used to having to do 60h per week at work, so for me being sleepy and unemployed is no big deal. As I said, I can punch through it. Easily.

I have only taken sleeping pills once, and it was because I didn't sleep for 4days, after strep. And it didn't work.

I have an idea what woke me up at 4:00 am every night… enough said.

                      Week one update:

@ 60mg per day. Drove 7h yesterday without too much sleepiness but paying for it today. Calmness and dramatic drop in Al consumption, even while visiting "trigger" area. Scotch bottle was not emptied Moderation is effortless.

Goal is to try to hit 100mg/d by next week. SE notwithstanding.

Glad to hear you're doing well so far Inde! I have also been finding moderation to be effortless. The desire to have a drink these days is much more habitual than psychological, and it just doesn't taste as good anymore.

Thanks for posting that link, I'd forgotten about The Onion! That was hilarious. :H

                          Thanks Isolde.

The calming effects of baclofen were required from thursday on. I screwed up a job by trying to negotiate a few points on the offer letter. The offer was promptly pulled. Apparently I only had one course of action that was acceptable, accept the offer as is. Bastards.

On a positive note, I've been AF since thursday. Anxiety high, because of the blown job. I actually haven't been interested in drinking. I'm at 60mg. Usual SE present; some sleepiness, some insomnia, dreaming like the dickens, dry mouth.

As a friend posted on facebook:

Jan : Better off! You wouldn't want to work with bosses that uncompromising anyway!
Nora : I agree with Jan. Don't let the bastards grind you down! Yarrrrr!

Anyhoo, I'm off to go buy matching socks.
