No insurance can't get script topimax

I was introduced to MWO about ten years ago, I was ecstatic with the results - my desire for alcohol was gone. I have also been under the care of a psychiatrist for a year due to ADD, she was giving me a script for Adderol.
After a particularly stressful year which included neck surgery and then the death of my sister, my drinking began to creep up again. I phoned my psychiatrist and asked for a script for topimax, she refused and told me that if I was drinking heavily that she would no longer dispense my adderol. The only way she would see me again is if I were to go to rehab and give her a letter stating that I had completed the program.
I now know that rehab is unnecessary, I've actually been down that path before - wouldn't trade the experience + do not want to repeat it. I have no insurance, am currently on disability from neck surgery.
How do I get my much needed topimax? I've researched online pharmacies w/no script, they give me cause for concern - suggestions?

Empress, I do not believe that this website was around ten years ago. I could be wrong, but I don?t think so. I?m thinking it was 2005, or thereabouts, that it fired up. The worldwide web has only been around since ?93, and only more widely available (you didn?t pay by the hour for really slow access) since 1997 or so. In 2000, there was not a whole lot (that I can remember - important point) of recovery stuff going on on the web. There were a lot of groups on Usenet (text-only forums, no colors, no pics, no italics ? just text), which predated the worldwide web by many years. There were some bulletin boards, but nothing ten years ago looked like this site (or much of any site that still exists today).

Adderol and alcohol is a bad mix. Adding topa into that would not be good, I wouldn?t think.

What kind of disability are you on that you don?t have insurance? What I would tell my daughter if she were in your situation is to talk to the shrink and ask that person to help her find a treatment center who would take her now, with no insurance, etc. In the alternative, you could talk to the doc who is treating you for the neck injury about helping you find treatment. Then, when you are off the juice, you could start exploring different options. As an aside, are you still on pain medication from the neck surgery?

I?m liberal at heart but quite conservative when it comes to using complex chemical cocktails to get sober on a ?do-it-at-home? basis It doesn?t seem to me to be a good idea, but that?s just one person?s opinion on the matter. Topa is available online. Folks on the ?New Here and Starting Topa? thread would likely be able to give more specific info where topa is concerned.

Good luck! I hope you find where you need to be.
