    That's an interesting article in itself, but this part was rather irksome:

    "The most recent study, a double-blind placebo-controlled trial involving 80 alcoholics, saw neither a reduction in heavy drinking nor an increase in abstinence. However, that study used a 30-mg dose of baclofen, much lower than the 80-mg dose typically used by individuals and physicians who have reported success with the drug."

    This is hilarious. You have to wonder what these people were trying to prove, and why they bothered doing this "research" at all. It's like testing to see if water really evaporates at 100 degrees C, while only heating it to 50 degrees. Looks to me like they intentionally discredited baclofen. Spooky eh.
