I have an irrational hatred for the 'Noles, only because my best friend is an FSU fan for no reason whatsoever. He didn't go there or anything, he just chose them as his college football team of choice.

But hey, the Seminole nation actually supports the use of their name by the team, last I heard, so... Cool.

Bacman -this post was truly not necessary and it was indeed hurtful. I know how you operate and who you are, but I did not expect this type behavior and words from you. We live and learn. As a very young and somewhat challenged person Bacman, I do hope that, as you gain life experience, you will not feel the need to try and hurt others in this way. However, we all must remember that you are under the influence of brain altering chemicals and this is not the 'real' you expressing.

sf, I can second this about you. When I first talked with you and emailed with you I never thought that you would attack and make assumptions about people here--including attacking me in the past. Do you see the assumptions you make?

Does anyone know if there is a college whose sports teams are called the so-and-so "Boxers." If so I could really root for that school! Even better would be the so-and-so "Handsome Boxers" but what is the chance of that?

Then again Williams College fields the "Purple Elfs" or something so I guess anything is possible.

Hey Stuck, did you go to Iowa? If so, I have educational connections with three out of four degrees with MWOers. Northwestern, Iowa (MA, 1997) and Florida State.

In keeping with the dog theme I have a schipperke who is the best. He was a rescue 11 years ago. He is the best dog ever.

I visited one up at animal services one summer in Brattleboro VT after our senior dachshund had died. Dogs are so intelligent. It really liked my ex wife but did not take a liking to me. It probably smelled the alcohol on me (I had been drinking that day and blew out a tire on a downed tree limb in the road on the way back from the shelter). Thinking back on it, it very well may have been abused by an alcoholic. Ah, the good old bad days...

And today? I ordered sushi for lunch and then took. 3 hour nap. Then I went to the bar. and now I ordered sushi from the same fucking place for dinner.

I am all in favor of routing for a team called the Purple Elfs. Though, given it's Williams, you'd think they would've spelled it the Purple Elves. Geez. Academia in this country has certainly deteriorated when a school that costs a bazillion dollars can't get it right.

I could also get behind anything called the handsome boxers. Except boxers. I find that barbaric and it makes me cry when I see grown men hit each other. Really. Quite embarrassing, actually, if I'm in the wrong crowd...Like when I was at a party and Mike Tyson was beating some guy mercilessly and everyone was watching and I just started crying. But wait. That's much beside the point, isn't it?

I met the coolest schipperke once. I guess they were originally bred to be boat-dogs? Or rather ship-dogs? Where I live we're surrounded by water and on a major thruway for the people who sail the north-south seaway on the east coast (or something like that-I dunno). Anyway, this dog was a boat-dog, but despite that was full of frenetic energy, except when his owners told him to chill out. Which he did. Immediately. Very smart little things...

mmmm. Sushi. It's what I'm going to reward myself with when I lose x-number of pounds...An extravagant sushi dinner.

Sorry about the booze, though. I may be drinking much, much less than I was, but that sh*t is still expensive. When I quit, for good, I'll be able to afford the sushi...And I'll be able to drop the weight much more easily. Anyway.

Like Baclofenman, I looked up your post history. I see that your only other post was on a thread where there was a bunch of drama and you felt like it diminished MyWayOut.

I agree. As do most of us here. Please feel free to participate here (or on the new forum) if you're also struggling with dealing with alcoholism. We will, regardless of the troll on the meds threads, offer as much support and information as we can. Both here, or on the new site.

Fortunately, having a new site doesn't mean we aren't going to continue to post on MWO. Many of us feel a responsibility to continue to participate here, in addition to contributing to www.theendofmyaddiction.org, in order to offer support and relevant, accurate information to people who may be struggling.

In the meantime, we are having a little fun, talking about dogs and whatnot. Please feel free to jump into that discussion, as well, if you have a dog or a particular affiliation with a mascot...
