Sobriety. From one who knows. A sober point of view.

Ah, I'd forgotten about that - I got terrible insomnia when I stopped. Jesus, here I sound like the wise old sage! But it made baclofen insomnia seem like a coma. I was sleeping about 1 hour a night for a few days, but thankfully it soon passed.

yeah, i remember the sleep stuff from when i've quit before. maybe it's a hint at how badly smoking knocks us out.

so, my mouth continues to hurt. and i continue to smoke. but less. i give myself two more cigs for the day (have already had two), and if i don't drink i MIGHT be able to swing that. i'm not craving beer right now, and will endeavor to stay away from it for today. if i do drink, i know i'll go way past the three. and my body (my mouth) is clearly trying to tell me something here.

i really want to put this shit behind me. i'm going to acupuncture this week (i am!), and my mom said she'd help pay for me to go to hypnotherapy. so now that work is over and my whole infrastructure has shifted, i'm about to arrive at indifference (!), and i have real motivation just waiting to bloom into full force, it is time to wrestle this bull to the ground!

thought i'd just stop on by and state ftor some of my new ways to help myself quit smoking: snus (even if stuffed into a teabag, as i've gone and ordered the loose stuff); apples; tea; typing faster; exercise; cleaning house; crafting.

okay, i'm off to the gym w my cup of tea and an apple and pre-packed snus for later.

but i really want to have just a few drags, at the mo.

Different quit smoking aids are great but I think it boils down to 2 for me. Drugs and will power. Or maybe its just 1. Drugs. Baclofen gives me the ability to use my will power and the combination of wellbutrin and baclofen mean that it doesn't require a superhuman effort.

Hope you're well Rudy, sounds like you are from your thread. I'll be watching with interest how things pan out over the next couple of days.

            Reg

            Hope you're ready.

I'm not in great place. Not too happy with MWO and the people who feel that its their prerogative to control it. We all know better. We cannot control thnigs that's basically our problem

For the first time, I've experienced lack of control. Got drunk last night a bit. Tonight, I'm getting drunk on red wine but it's finished ( the feeling).

My life is fucked. it may have been the reason why I decided to stop drinking but reality hasn't changed.

Every fucking waking moment I'm worrying about the future. Weekly, monthly. I am minus, It sucks, big time.

I thought I had this fucker handled but its still here. I reduced my dose to 40mg after forgetting my dose for a few days last week. Without ant doubt the enjoyment of getting drunk has come back. So I've increased to 60mg tonight. Hope and expect I will get on track.

As to smoking; I'm on my second pack today.

                  Sorry to hear it Ig.

MWO - Meh - just take the bits you enjoy, and ignore the rest. Same with anything really. That's my useful advice all done, I'm afraid.

60mg's is not a lot, is that what you've been using to successfully ward cravings off in the past? If so, take heart, you're a lucky man. Without doubt, taking the correct amount, whatever that is, will sort that particular issue put. As to the rest, well, it's better handled sober. Not easier, but better.

Its not that I hat expressions like 'you rock'. its just that I'm overly fed up with platitudes. We live in a shitty world but none us can do any thing about it.
