    Well, I'm indifferent (6 jan 2011)

UK, just wanted to comment on your post as well. Ig was definitely not insulting you, and I didn't get that from his post at all. He was just letting you know (as I'm about to do) that he felt the same way about the possibility of bac becoming another addiction, as in the beginning it does seem like something fun to use recreationally! He and I both spoke about that at the beginning of our bac adventures.
Bac made me feel really good at the beginning. Heck, it even made drinking better! I'd say that lasted up to about 80mgs for me. At 80 I felt AWESOME! But as you continue to go higher (don't get scared here), it gets less fun. I'm sure you've seen from all of our posts here about the numerous SEs! They're very real and will keep you from wanting to abuse bac, which is a good thing. And as Nev pointed out, if you do decide to take more/titrate up faster because you are feeling good, you might soon realize that it was a bad idea! :H There's definitely a honeymoon phase with bac (for a lot of us I think), but even when the going gets a bit tough, it's so worth it.

I think most of us here are so adamant about bac because it really has been a miracle pill for a lot of us, and sometimes some of us DO want to shout that from the rooftops! So that might give this forum a bit of a different feeling than some of the other ones at MWO. There's definitely a bit of a twisted sense of humor here (we need it to deal with the darned SEs!!), but don't worry, we really don't bite. And sometimes we do get awfully lovey dovey! :l

Hope to see you continue to post here!

That's the best idea I've heard for a long time. I would do it in capital letters though.
Having hit the switch, I now post under the username "bleep". Look forward to seeing you on the other side...

I don't think it's a sign of weakness. People use Chantix for quitting smoking, right? They use Weight Watches for weight, correct? For me, Baclofen keeps my emotions more balanced so I can address the root cause of why I drink and gives me space in my brain to develop new goals, hobbies, etc., (new routines) now that I don't drink. This might be an idea for a new thread....what do you guys think?
Agreed. Funny how people think using bac would be a weakness, when all of society thinks drinking too much is a weakness, and so everyone here would be considered weak! Yet, how many of us have (for example) vomited in the morning, caught a 7am flight right after, tried not to vomit on the plane, landed, drove around a strange city to find a client, made a presentation to a boardroom full of challenging people, etc. while being sick from a terrible hangover. I mean, we POWER THROUGH the day (except for the ones we don't) when any non-alki would lie in bed moaning with the flu. It's not that different from someone with a chronic illness like rheumatoid arthritis, (except that we are seen to bring it on ourselves), in that a tough life makes you tougher.

I remember my ex having a hangover once, only once, and he was lying in bed moaning loudly, rolling around in agony, and I thought, "this guy is too weak for me".

Good point Fletch! If my ex even got a cold he was down for the count....much less my caliber hang over....I think it makes us stronger to seek out help and not just settle for "accepted" forms of getting sober...they obviously did not work so we keep trying until we find a way!

Truer words ... ... Or however it goes.

I just moved into a duplex with my sister earlier this week who just had a brand new baby boy yesterday morning. Needless to say she wasn't much help during the move. We had a lot of stuff between the two of us, spread out between two counties.

I cannot tell you the sheer number of tasks that I've completed in the last three weeks to make this all happen. I am soooo highly functional it borders on insanity! If I wrote down a list of all stuff I've taken care of/done/completed recently it would shock even me. The same list when I was an alcoholic would have taken me 6 months to do.

I'm spending time reading and posting on MWO right now and I'm looking around at my new house and all the stuff I put in it and unpacked and organized and cleaned...and then unpacked and organized and cleaned...(rinse and repeat 7 times for the seven truckloads that I hauled). I'm amazed. All while pulling a decent load at my job which includes doubles once or twice a week. I had to fix my car a couple of times too. AND fiddling around a bit on the net...here and other places. And so many more things...shopping, getting services rolled out, blah blah blah...

I picked up my sister and my new nephew at the hospital this morning (after I cleaned the house again. She was shocked :wow:
when she saw the house and said thank you like 5 times already tonight.

That is one of the things I took care of!!!!

I had an all access membership to Anytime Fitness a chain gym that has 1300 locations worldwide for $45/month.

They have a location that was 10 minutes away from my home in Amador County and one that was 2 minutes away from my work in Sacramento. They also have one that is 10 minutes away from my new house in Sacramento.

I thought that was great! Problem solved right?

Wrong. I went to the new gym by my house to workout a week ago and started scoping out the equipment to plan my workout. All gyms are a bit of a give and take and have some things you want but don't have. You have to learn to be be flexible and just get it done regardless of your environment (the gym) or your hectic week (schedule/life).

They had NO barbell. Not one, in the entire gym. Anybody who trains like I do knows that the 3 core lifts are your Squat, Deadlift and Bench. The rest of your routine is built around those. No barbell. So what use dumbbells instead maybe?

When I deadlift these days I'm deadliftling 275 lbs for 5-8 reps. It's easy to load up a barbell with 275 lbs. Two dumbbells though would have to be 137.5 lbs each! I don't think I've seen dumbbells that large ever! They might make 'em but if they do you're not gonna find them in this gym! Same problem for Squats (no barbell, no rack, nothing). That was a deal breaker for me. Unacceptable.

So I left. On my way home (pissed off) I pulled into another gym which happened to be 2 minutes away from my new house. It was called California Family Fitness and it had everything I needed for $49/month.

I signed up. And finished my 4th and final workout this week tonight! 4 workouts, 30-40 minutes each = 2 - 2 1/2 hours a week.

If you love it like I do you don't find time, you make
                        time.

For anyone who says "well, lucky him the nearest gym to me is 35 minutes away", I would have an answer for that too.

Lo0p, I'm confused--did you quit doing the 45 minutes of cardio every morning?

Also I'm curious re: your new diet. I saw you mention somewhere that you don't eat until 4 p.m. now. Are you doing Intermittent Fasting?

Yes I quit doing 45 minutes of cardio in the morning. IMO, now, it is a waste of time unless you either like to do it or it is for your healthy heart.

Cardio is NOT necessary for fat loss. All I did to adjust is I took the 300-450 or so calories I burned doing 45 minutes of LISS and simply eat 300-450 calories less everyday now. If I'm trying to burn fat, I do it just as rapidly like this without the cardio.

Yes I am doing Intermittent Fasting. I am following my own version Martin Berkhan's Leangains protocol that you can find for free on his website: Intermittent fasting diet for fat loss, muscle gain and health

                                Well, I'm indifferent (6 jan 2011)

                                I'm claiming back my thread!!

According to the WHO Holland is 106th when it comes down to the fattest people on earth, and America is nr 9. Since we're having kind of the same genes, I think something else might be wrong. So please take good notice of these simple tools that should be considered as a gift from across the ocean.

Note that I'm of course not prejudiced or being judgemental. This all comes from a caring and good heart:

Stop eating burgers, coca cola, take-away food, KFC, pizza, pizza with extra's, Stop giving that to your children. Get your ass out of the car and ride a bike. In no time the american people might have weights that go with their genes. Fatassity for no medical reason, must be considered unamerican, unpatriotic, and a disgrace to the flag. And a communist of course. The great founding fathers would cry themselves blind these days, and would definitely add an amendment to the Constitution: "when The People get too fat for no reason, the Federal Government has the unrestricted power and the moral obligation to force The People into healthcamps".

That is my contribution to the gym/cardio-blahblah on my beloved Bac-forum.

So now people, can we please return, just a littlebit more, to the essence of this forum and MWO? Providing information for those people like us in the world who are looking for some rescue/hope? If I were to be here at this forum for the first time and see that the members seem to be very busy with their weight, I'd look further. And yes, I'm being a little judgemental here. I'm sorry. We've already got a Baclofen and Exercise threat, which has quickly become completely useless for people who would like to know anything about Baclofen and excercise.

Tomorrow an update of my titrating down. But I can already reveal that I'm doing great at 150mg now, and I sleep whole nights. Sleep is really a gift!!

And I do not drink, even though I had a large trigger.

Another tip before you spend your money on a gym to loose weight: stop drinking! wanna be healthier? stop drinking!

(all excuses already accepted, so no need. If I accidently insulted somebody, I sincerely apologize here, so I won't have to do it elsewhere)
