I stopped it two years ago after a successful (also using determination) couple of months where I had control over my drinking, and went AF for the first time in twenty years. It also led to much hair loss. I decided, being a woman, I'd rather be AL and have a head of hair, than Bald and Sober. My reading of posts has told me not many people admit to hair loss and some that do also seem to adjust to the topa and their hair comes back. Maybe many have thick hair and barely notice a thinning.
I already had hair thinning issues, stemming from the blood pressure drugs, anemia possibly, and the always diagnosed "stress" (BS) by doctors as a reason for anything they can't otherwise explain. I also had some hair loss on bac.
My hair is still super thin in the crown area, in about 2 square inches, there are about 100 hairs. It's pretty devastating - but it started happening before any addiction drugs, but was accelerated by them. So if you're prone, be forewarned. If not, you will likely grow it back if you lose it in the first place.
AL abuse can also cause hair loss. AL seems to do different things to different people and the cocktail of drugs I'm on for HBP is a differentiator that may predict a different outcome for me on strong meds like bac and topa. I blame AL for my inability to apparently absorb enough vitamins and minerals to keep my hair on my head, and I also blame the HBP drugs. AL has also messed up my digestive tract so most days I'm stopped up or severely the reverse. I'm hoping the L-glut helps me heal it. Also the not drinking. I've had two beers in the last three nights.
You might try the L-glut to help your gut not fall apart during all the vomiting. If you can keep it down. I mix it with psyllium husk which usually calms my stomach if the issue is acid.
